I'd prefer one that isnt shadow-run by a cabal of posters who can decide what rules to institute and when to get certain posters banned from a board which was previously proudly declared to be without content restrictions. How right you were when you said "The Community" now runs things here.

And that's fine, it's your board (or, was). But can we get a definitive posting of the rules now that two members have been banned fo violating a rules policy dictated by others, one which nobody has seen?

I'm not sure where you're getting this "shadow-run" crap, but we've done our best to consider the wishes of the users and you are one of them. And we argue about this stuff among ourselves. I would say the three of us are all very different and I think it would be difficult for you to argue that we- as a collective- are less than reasonable. I understand that there are those who support a completely unmoderated forum. I fall into that camp myself as you apparently do. But it's pretty obvious that a majority of members don't feel that way, and some of them have made it eminently clear by posting much less or stepping away from the board entirely. Finally, I find it pretty silly that you're actually fighting for a guy's "right" to post "black people are trash."

But let me tell you this, and you're a great guy to use as an example. This has never come up in a discussion between Seacrest, Nas, and me, but if it ever did I know what my position would be. You say a lot of questionable shit, but there's simply a different quality to it than the stuff posted by those that are no longer here. You might use the same words as somebody else and it would just come off as goofy and funny rather than as vitriolic and mean. And I guess that's a judgment that we have to make and I know that isn't satisfactory for someone like JLN who apparently wants a Constitution of the Chicago Fanatics Message Board, but it's probably as good as you're going to get. And before anyone does get banned they have plenty of fair warning and the ability to avoid the situation is in their own hands. It's not like anyone has ever been on a short leash here. I think that's more than fair.

I want consistency. It was you who proudly stated that the moderators would stay out of policing the content of posts, that offensive or inflammatory things would be removed rather than a poster banned, if I remember correctly when I was making a stink about a few people doxing another board member.

But now there are apparently hard lines that we should not cross. And yes, there might be ample warning given, but you cannot honestly tell me that your current stance is in any way similar to what you told me back when Chas was doxxed. So why the change in tune? If you changed because a certain sect of The Community complained, then your board is being run for you by those posters, tough shit if you don't like it.
