Freddie didn't write many Queen songs.

Hang up on yourself.

The movie looks to be very good, but I side with Sacha Baron Cohen in that I would have preferred it be more about Freddie...the good the bad and the ugly. This will be more band-centric and watered down.

In these movies what more is there to say really? Guys had a band, one was gay/bi and probably died from aids due to risky behavior which at the time no one knew would kill you. The end.

The reason Cohen was booted was he wanted to focus on the weird and wild shit.

Yes.....as I said...the life of Freddie....the good, the bad, and the ugly. The dude was FULL of weird and wild shit....it was part of what made him so legendary. They could have done the movie.....shown his greatness....and still highlighted just how crazy the dude lived.

the band has a vested interest in keeping a certain image and promoting the band. Cohen has been very clear on this and that he gets it, but there's way more they could show. See his interview on Stern.

Didn't hear good things.

Although, I'm sure Queen's music alone will make this movie some decent box office $$$.

Really enjoyed it. The guys that played Mercury and May did amazing.

The scenes at the end of the Live Aid concert were crazy, it was like you were right there live at the deal.

Yes.. He was cast off because he just wanted to film the gay sex orgies and do 20 takes.

Freddie Mercury was a Zoroastrian, but was not buried on a Tower of Silence, where they leave your corpse to be picked over by vultures and then throw your bones down a well. Coolest burial system ever, bring back the Zoroastrians.

Agreed. They did take some creative liberties with parts of the story to add a bit of drama and keep it flowing but overall it was great.

Liked the movie a lot. Amazing how much the actors captured the look and feel of the band.
