Some Vaccination Complaints:

The old road trip vacation with kids. Left at four in the am. The missus (on whose dime we are vacationing) drove through Illinois while I slept.

Drove about 92 through Kentucky and Tennessee and got to Alabama quickly. Could have just driven to the Florida Panhandle in one day, but reservations, man.

Arrived in Huntsville, Alabama. Had to wait for them to "inspect" the room for ninety minutes. Drove around Huntsville with cranky children. Huntsville is beautiful in the way that Posen is. I don't care too much, though, as it is just a resting place.

Took the kids in the pool. Not bad! My cranky kids--who, as I said, were tired and cranky--got along famously. We had about fifty good minutes ("Things are going swimmingly," I ad-libbed to the missus) until some fat little cherub vomited. In fairness, he tried to direct the fluids outside the pool. He didn't quite make it, but the attempt was there, and at this level, that's what's important.

One of 4 large tomato plants is producing tomatoes that are rotting from the bottom. Looks like the whole plant will be a loss. And this year I really took my garden to a new level. I got a truck bed full of dirt to raise the garden and I finally put a chicken wire fence around it since I lost too many tomatoes to rabbits last year.

What does this have to do with vaccinations

Paying for transcripts is such a money grab. If I am just printing a PDF it should be free. Piss on your $10 charge to print one copy of my transcripts!

Tried to enjoy myself on the beach today. Was kinda hard when every 40-51 year-old woman was craning her neck to check me out. I wanted to scream, "I'm here with my wife and kids--back off!"

Another vaccination complaint or two:

--There is really not much to do in Destin.
--The Latinas in this joint . . . It's a jigglefest. I haven't processed a thing the missus has said to me in the past forty minutes. I'm exaggerating, but still.

Luckily we had five baseball games in Destin. We sat by the pool and drank in our free time. There are a couple of good BBQ places, that nice go kart track, and then tiny boardwalk by the bridge.

 @Inebriated Rodent, Francisco Drebinoso, and whomever is posting under TP's account. Like I said, I exaggerated--I wouldn't be that disrespectful to my wife, and anyone under thirty looks thirteen--but Dios mio, los milfs.

@Denis: My kids have narrow interests and palates, but the beach is generally enough. I was hoping for a really good museum or historical site. Some of the trails were ok, though, but apparently, most of the really cool birds are here in the winter.

remember my millennial hire? She asked for a review which I was happy to provide. I knew there would be a raise request which I was prepared to discuss.

I told her my number. She asked to negotiate. I said it wasn't a negotiation but she can make a request. She dropped a 50% pay increase request on me after six months of work.

I should have thanked her for making the negotiation so easy. I was willing to come up from my position. However, the discussion ended with that counter so now instead of getting my offer+, she just gets my offer.

How in the heck does anyone without any leverage make that request?

Desitin goes in a special place.

She is a Millennial. No matter where they came from, they act like wealthy Harvard grads. Everything is a negotiation. No chain of command--only their preferences. I hated teaching them. They want to be executives right off the bat.

Well, some of them are like this.

I don't believe in negotiating a raise. A raise is merit-based on the evaluation of your performance.

That doesn’t work as technically the guy should be reporting rental income.

If she is only getting SS and not much else, and has no assets (like a house), maybe she gets a housing subsidy she has to use up.

one of our damn chickens has bumblefoot. Its an infection that will utlimately kill the bird. now who cares you might say...its a chicken...we've got a dozen of them. euthanize it and move on. but of course it happens to my wife and childs favorite chicken. the one that comes to them when you call it. So i'm doing surgery tonight to remove the heart of this infection. dad of the year dammit. unless i kill it of course.
