Nats just announced they’re willing to trade him by tomorrow. He wants to come here. What can we give up? Do we really want him?

I see no reason to trade assets for him right now.

I hope he is traded tho so that it wont cost the Cubs a draft pick in the offeason when they sign him.

Agree. He will be available in the offseason and you won't have to give up current players and prospects to get him.
I do believe that a change of venue will be beneficial to him and he should round back into form.

Pardon my ignorance on this sort of thing, but [i]will[i] he be available in the off season? I ask because I'm not sure if it is normal to grab a player of his caliber at trade deadline for a half-year deal and then let them go. I know it happens, but what are the chances that we miss out on him after this season if we don't grab him now?

Hes a free agent at seasons end, he's going to explore his options.. His dog is named Wrigley and his best bud is Kris Bryant..I think we're the front runners to get him. I rather get Machado..Harper is a good plan B.

It's not even laughable. I've been a huge Harper guy from day 1, but outside of one great season, he is just a run of the mill power hitting outfielder. Albeit, doing it at a very young age.

Sign Harper and trade Happ? Or trade Russell, Baez to short, and put Happ/Zobrist at second. Can Bote play second?
