Just spitballing here... could this be the start of a more cordial era between the Cubbie and Sox?

Given the size of the respective fan bases, maybe the Sox stockpile prospects and wait for them to develop before trading them to the Cubs for more prospects. Fans win on both sides of town, and the Sox become a Cubs feeder team. Win-win?

Looking at the all star game it appears the Cubs are the feeder team for
The rest of the
League

Kap said today ( in his own bragging style of course ) that he talked to his guys on both sides of town and they both said theres no way that deal would've been done had the Cubs not won the WS last year. Logic being that the Sox wouldn't have wanted to be seen as helping the Cubs in any way but now that burden is lifted. Which if true, is an indictment of Reinsdorf, Kenny and all that came before . You'd rather pass up the opportunity to improve your team if the situation came up because you didn't want to be seen as helping them win? Hell of a way to run your baseball club.

Kap is a raging penis so take what he says with a grain of salt.

Have to give Hahn a lot of credit on this one. The package the Sox got for Q was twice as good as what the Rays got for Archer.

I would rather have Cease than Meadows. Glasnow is garbage, he would be lucky to find a career as a reliever.

Thing is , he could be pitching for the Sox and the exact same thing would be happening

Correct. The team he wasn't on would be getting "run support".

This game should be the perfect illustration of how a half run of average offense is absolutely meaningless within the space of a single game. Why didn't the Cubs superior offense help Quintana? Obviously Lopez had the tougher task yet he outpitched Quintana, as so many have before him.

In fairness to RFDC (can't believe I'm saying that), Verlander looked washed up once he hit 30. Much like Clemens. And like Clemens he was rejuvenated by a change in scenery. And steroids. Hopefully Verlander is just a new team.

yeah it was a terrible opinion looking backwards on it. But in the moment it was not that much of a stretch. Verlander has obviously rejuvenated himself and it is far superior

At least I was against getting Q. And I am happy I can help provide some Sox fans some happiness in the midst of their miserable season.

This trade looks even better with each passing day.

As Jason Benetti said, "THANKS CUBS!!!"

I think this could potentially be a good deal for both clubs. Eloy is going to be a good one.

No doubt the Cubs needed pitching help that would be around for awhile.

At least they did not give up any of their current major league guys and I dont think any of the other 3 guys are going to amount to much.

Shoot this man
