This is what happens when you let that grandstanding turd pull it off 3 weeks ago.

Shutting down Lake Shore Drive at 4:00 in the afternoon on a Thursday is going to fuck things up everywhere. The traffic coming from the Loop that normally takes Lake Shore Drive is going to find another way. It's going to disrupt pretty much everything to the north of the city.

Rahm has that Clintonian flair for co-opting and leveraging people's hatred of him. How bad can he be, right? Congress is a black lady now!

Has any kind of protest ever been met with anything but intense disdain by the C(S)FMB intelligentsia?

I recall Kid Cairo melting down about an Occupy demonstration because it obstructed his path on the sidewalk. Sorry your parents lost their house, pal, but I really need to get to Starbucks right now.

This behavior will only graduate. Went from the Dan Ryan on a Saturday, to Lake Shore Drive on a rush hour workday, whats next? Does anyone think this protest is going to do anything to stop black people from killing each other?   Yea right. They want economic opportunity and jobs? Countless employers have moved to the south side. Remember Finkl? Remember widening and expanding 41 south of South Shore? Remember Torrence? How about the imminent Red Line expansion?

They are getting more than they deserve for what meager contributions they make.

But soon they'll come up with something new. Shut down O'Hare or close multiple expressways at once. Eventually it will build past "shut it down" and they'll start redistributing the pain directly. CH and others will have a lot harder time saying WELL HOW DOES THIS ACTUALLY AFFECT YOU? then.

Most posters here are anti-protest. They won't admit it, but they think people should just shut the fuck up and deal with ____.

Also, there is a sentiment of "if the problem you are protesting is not fixed by next week, the protest was meaningless"

Well you don't really have to be against a cause if you get annoyed that a protest is not convenient for your daily life.

This isn't a protest. They are redistributing the pain. Their words, not mine.

Not trying to raise awareness.
Not trying to win you over.

They are trying to punish you. You dont get this. None of you stupid liberal turbogoys ever understand this.

Protests are supposed to have a purpose. What exactly are they protesting? Inner city violence? We all agree that's bad. Do they want the National Guard to come in?

"We are protesting inner city violence by staging protests against people who are....basically absent from violent crime statistics?"

Its such obvious bullshit. These soyboys are programmed by the media to go along with whatever crazy BLM whites-must-pay narrative is being presented before them. The fact that they just chose to ignore the motive for this demonstrations (better word for it than protest), despite it being clearly stated by the demonstrators themselves, speaks to this.

They are our brothers and we will wait for them on the other side of enlightenment, but god its hair pulling to read how clueless they are.

Of course they want to make it about me personally now. That's the clearest sign they have no actual argument left to make.

It's not my protest, but Id guess that they are hoping it goes from "yea, that violence in the part of the city Ill never be is terrible, hopefully something is done" to "lets all work together to make sure something is done"

I dont think it will work.

I think all protests should be held only in governmentally approved staging areas out of site and only at times that inconvenience no one.

When you call people cuck and soyboy like a 13 year old playing Call of Duty online for the first time, your homosexual fantasies about Ryan Pace are going to be brought up. Sorry, its just the way of the world.

I am enjoying your anger over this. It's made my day more enjoyable, thank you.

I agree with the first part of your statement. However when the slogan for the march is "redistribute the pain," its not going to work.

America sounds upset. Might I suggest a refreshing glass of French wine? Or maybe some jizz?

 I guess I do Arps! My point is when you have that sort of oft putting and devisive slogan out there, what do they really expect to happen? Perhaps if they had taken a "hey, this is your city too and just a few miles south this is whats going on" type of approach-- as you indicated-- maybe some heads get turned.

This way is more likely to piss people off and get ugly.
