This will be an unpopular opinion, but I think America adds a lot to the board.

Not sure what you mean.

His writing style is creative, and he has divergent opinions.

He said something once that made me want to blast him, but whatever. Bygones and such.

He says a lot of racist shit. I don't see too too many people calling him out for it. Not saying you personally agree with him, but it seems as though people enjoy his racism and bigotry talk a little too much for my liking.

How the hell is it creative? Because he makes things up, says 'cuck' and 'soi boi'? Because of how he enjoys the occasional oblique reference regards so-called "racist" viewpoints positively? Douglas Adams and David Foster Wallace each had a creative writing style; not this guy.

Lots of people have "divergent" opinions ... doesn't make them interesting necessarily. Some people believe the Earth is flat - that's fine they have a "divergent" opinion but that doesn't mean I respect it nor does it make me think highly of the person.

Well, he was banned for the trash comment, which I'm pretty sure no one agreed with. Kinda goes without saying, IMO. I don't agree with everything he says, obviously, but I look forward to what he writes. I often don't even think he's serious, but his writing style is clever.

Nor did I say, or even intimate, that you said I had to.

That said, I would suggest it's possible that it's a not a great opinion.

He's definitely serious about how he feels about black people, Gene. This ain't Elmhurst Steve trying to get a steak dinner.

Well, it should go without saying, but I obviously don't condone blatantly racist rhetoric. I think it's an exaggeration to compare America to Elmhurst Steve. Steve has literally said he prefers not to be around black prople and that they should know their place like dozens of times. America made one dumb comment and was rightfully punished for it. Apples and oranges to me, but hey - we're all entitled to our opinions.

Specifically, what does the African American contingent that feels disenfranchised want from the white(perceived) "privileged" faction? We aren't the ones doing the shooting. That is the gang-bangers.

I think the purpose of it is to highlight the problems which afflict blacks in poverty stricken communities. In their minds the Mayor and people from affluent communities too often ignore these problems.

I don't agree with the premise behind it but i do agree with their right to protest. They are using rush hour because they know that it will be a major inconvenience for people of affluence.

Who cares?

In Europe they protest for good reasons, bad reasons or no reasons at all and everyone seems to accept it as a part of life....and America was designed to be more protesty than Europe.

We are SUPPOSED to protest. It's just coincidence that we have lost our will to fight in the last 30 years

For some, there will never be a right way for people to protest. It'll always be the wrong place, the wrong time, or the wrong method. If the protests were outside the Daley Center, they'd be blocking a dance troupe that was supposed to be there that day and depriving the Loop of culture and young people of opportunities to perform, two things they care about as much as traffic on Lake Shore Drive around Belmont. If the protests were in Englewood, they'd be stupid for doing them there, too, probably.

Again, I'm not saying they don't have a right to protest.

But your question of "who cares?" seems like an odd stance. Why wouldn't we care what they are protesting? Isn't that part of listening to what they are trying to say so that we can have a reasoned dialogue about it? Or are you just in favor of people randomly protesting just for the hell of it?

I'll always maintain the stance that eventhough it's everyone's right to protest, anyone who protests anything is a loser. You have no real voice in this country. Accept it, go home and have a drink.
