They are involved in drug dealing but it really isn't all that lucrative.

The Coates/BLM believe all/most whites are racist. For example, I've seen op-eds saying that white people should not have BLM shirts because it's cultural appropriation. It you believe that then this march is clearly not asking for help. Why would racists help you after all? They also probably do not really the type of help that would immediately end violence anyway. If there was a massive police force sent in to end the violence that would almost certainly also be protested as violating Civil Rights. So the march is to say they are pissed off and frustrated.

Yeah it's ridiculous to think a strong family unit would have anything to do with turning out a well adjusted child that doesn't get involved with gangs.

They really aren't. Not for guys that are supposed to be involved in criminal enterprises. Enough to eat and get high with. That is about it. Most of the gang problems are actual gang not drug related. Rival gangs killing while the other seeks retribution for it.

The hustle game has been dead since the 90's in this city. There are a few that do a little better than the rest but nothing major.

They never have bond money and always have to go the PD route for legal defense. Thats not a coincidence.

Most so called drug dealers are merely weed dealers because there isn't much to be made from dealing crack anymore. No one has ever gotten rich from dealing weed either. Just enough to get by with.
