Rosario was looking decent. Feel bad for him. Maybe that trip to the minors messed him up.

It’s obvious the Jed the Baptist and Theosus aren’t very good when it comes to drafting or giving big free agent money to pitchers. It seems they may have traded away the only top of the rotation starter to the Sock for a number three starter, in addition to a beast of a hitter in Eloy.

It’s readily apparent they aren’t very good at evaluating pitching, either in the draft or in free agency. It’s like the 80s Bears redux. Won a title but we’ll look back and lament that it couod have been more if not for bad front office decisions.

But hey, I got my one. Never thought that would happen. That doesn’t make up for what could have been. They aren’t a bad team but they aren’t a championship caliber team, either.

So can someone explain why Heyward gets credit for stealing third but not second? Why is one considered defensive indifference but not the other? The Padres clearly didn’t care about either one.

Worst team in mlb and that's all they could do, this team is weak as fuck. First round KO look promising

Sunday shep post game. Shep & bland herron talking college football. Shep calls herron pac10 boy. 1 minute later herron says he's got something for sheps ears only during break. No apology yet after break. Shep's a bad host but got to feel for him making a honest mistake.

They were talking about the Cubs after the post game. Also Herron isn't bland.

I dont think that is a completely fair stance to take on this situation.

They have absolutely had their misses. But they have also had their hits as well. Lester, Arrieta, Hendricks...three huge parts of that WS were hits by Jed and Theo.

Quintana and Darvish appear to be misses as of right now, but their story is not finished. And lets not crown Cease as a top of the rotation starter just yet. Lots of guys have great years in the minors to flame out. Maybe he will be great. Maybe he will be a bust. No one knows.

The biggest criticism is probably the lack of drafting/developing pitchers, but up until last year they did not put an emphasis on drafting pitching. So you cannot expect drafted pitchers to be making an impact at the major league level yet.

The full story is not complete yet. I get everyone is irritated. This last series vs the Padres was pathetic. You should not split and barely beat the fucking Padres.

But if you would have told me at the start of the season that Bryant would be hurt and having a down year, Rizzo would have a down year. Hendricks would have a down year. Chatwood and Darvish would be brutal. I would have guessed we would be a couple games below .500 and in 3rd or 4th place in the division. Yet they are in first place with the best record in the NL.

i predicted (bet money and won) and "understood" the loss on Thursday.

But if u told me the Padres would win 10-6 today I woulda showed u a naked picture of Bea Arthur.

Truly mind-blowing how a team full of AAA hitters got 16 hits and covered each of the 4 games (+1.5) in this series.

good thing is the NL is wide open. If they can hang in there and get to the playoffs it's a crap shoot in the NL.

Yep. The spirit of Bea Arthur came to me in a dream and filled me in. It was glorious.

You should have been there.

Are we sure she is a "her"?

On a related note, Charlotte Rae of The Facts of Life just passed away at 92. Did not know she was still alive.

I had to laugh when Len brought up Joey Luchessi's possible relation to Frank Luchessi.

Was funny cuz I wondered about Frank when the game started.

Thought it was funny theyre both from the bay area. There must be some kind of distant relation.

I wonder if fuckin Frank is still alive.

ETA: yes he is. he is 91. Wow.

I wouldn't call Q a miss..he's exactly what I thought he was..#3 starter. Theo fucked up by not getting Verlandet.. He cost less and he's an Ace. I'm not worried about Cease, his stuff was always great..he just can't stay healthy.
