Jaw Breaker, any thoughts on Newell (NWL) after today’s drop? The dividend yield is solid now, and they are deleveraging the balance sheet. It looks like they are divesting their lower margin non core businesses. They always seem to disappoint and restucture, but I see some value there now.

Weren't you once a fan of FTR too? I get looking for value but on the other hand maybe because of my MANY years in the restaurant industry I am not a bigfan of trying to catch falling knives.

FTR was, very sadly, a stock I recommended. It was not a falling knife. It was a high yielding, leveraged telco stock. They made the big mistake of buying Verizon's fixed line business in FL, CA and a few other states. The debt just swamped them. Hey but I gave you KSS!

And yes I am generally cautious against trying to catch a falling knife. I took a second look at NWL. There are a lot of divestitures going on there with the proceeds being used to pay down debt. I have a natural distrust of NWL because they are always restructuring (like Alcoa). But it appears there is a lot of value plus a 4% dividend yield. I haven't pulled the trigger.

That is actually one reason I thought about going in. The bad news of tariffs is priced in. I hate to assume politicians will do the right thing, but it will pop if this get resolved.

That is why the 4% dividend yield is key. You are being paid to hold, frankly better than a savings accounts (about 1.7% right now). For this stock, you probably need an 18 month time horizon. I estimate it will be $40/share if things go as I expect.

At what point does Tesla become a buy? Now or below $200?

An analyst downgraded the stock yesterday, saying Tesla was uninvestable because of Musk's erratic behavior.

I watched a little of the Rogan interview and found it refreshing that Musk is a genuine person and no doubt a genius. Sure, he is under a lot of pressure, but is there a CEO in the country that is more committed to his company than Musk? I think Cramer did a disservice to Musk by saying he needed a medical leave. For what, burnout? It's not burnout if Musk loves what he's doing, which clearly he does. I prefer Musk to Cook at Apple, who is probably as fake as they come.

What r u waiting for? Mortgage your house and buy Tesla.
