If they dont take 2/3 against the worst AL team something is wrong.

Even if they take two of three from the KCs, something’s wrong. This is not a championship team.

I was looking at the schedule and we have 3 vs the WSox in late Sept!! What kind of shit scheduling is that. Sox fans have something to look forward to. Spoiling the Cubs playoff chances in late sept.

Has to be a sweep. Can't come out of a 7 game stretch against SD and KC and be worse than 5-2. If they think they're contenders, they really need to setup on it. Last year was the hangover, funny thing, Houston has no hangover. This year has been more excuse of injuries and being a 2nd half team. So far this season, they have been awful in the 2nd half.

Agree. They look like they are just trying to sneak in. Lots of guys underachieving again this season. I have no doubt they don't win the WS this season.

The Cubs record right now is very good considering the massive amount of underperformances to this point. If KB, Lester and Hendricks can return to form even a little bit, you've got a very strong late August and early September. Then if you want to hope for more, if Darvish, Quintana and Russell perform even a little better, you've got the strongest team in the NL easily. Even if Baez regresses a little bit, which he may not.

I'm frustrated, but I still see a championship team.

Contreras looked to be safe on that terrible decision to try to stretch a single into a double. Maddon does not challenge.

What an awful offense. These guys deserve to be passed by the brewers. Strikeout after mother fucking strikeout........and of course its against a garbage pitcher. This guy is blowing a 91 mph fastball by everyone and getting them to swing at shit in the dirt.

Just walked in..that was the first batter I saw..luckily that WP got Zobrist home. He wasn't scoring if not for that.. These guys don't make enough contact and swing at garbage.

If the playoffs started next week, Hamels is our Ace.

They had a good stretch where they were looking up the middle and right center. That was just after the hitters only meeting in LA. The last two weeks or so they’ve done nothing but come out of their shoes on every swing. Especially, when there’s runners on, very frustrating.

I agree with this. I think he's going to be their best pitcher for the rest of the season. Just watch him on the mound his stuff is still good , has been in huge games before and he just knows how to pitch.

Nothing good happens when you hack at the first pitch vs a pitcher who you haven't seen yet tonight and possibly have never seen in your career. Some of these guys do this all the time and it doesn't seem to work out for them. Zobrist gets it to work but he has also seen it all. Contreras and Almora do it WAY too much with no positive results.

7 strikeouts between Contreras and Happ. Thats fucking embarrasing.....and Hammel just took them both down in a row.

Happ usually sees at least three pitches...and misses the last one he sees.

Classic Joe. Happ starting despite hitting .095 last 7 games he's played.
