I'm sure you posted something prior to today about how much Philly was counting on him. Didn't know that their future was contingent upon the health of Zhaire Smith. Thanks for the update though.

their future is an injury waiting to happen

So is every NBA team. Nothing new there. I just never knew that theirs was contingent on Zhaire Smith til you told me. Again thanks for the heads up.

This is true. They'll go as far as Embiid's dogs will take them.

Boston and Golden State are exceptions to the rule.

They will be fine. If Fultz turns into a player they go to the next level. Its on him.

Interesting that Ben Simmons was chosen as the guy most likely to make the All Star team of the guys that haven't.

Did you know that he can't shoot?

Neither is an exception. Durant goes down G.S. wins nothing. Same with Boston. No Irving and forget it.

Golden State won without him though. They're a Draymond Green suspension away from winning 5 straight. Throw in Cousins this year and they can overcome an injury to any player. Boston was a couple baskets or stops from the Finals last year. I don't think Boston is winning even if healthy.

They have a really good team without him but they're a championship team if he's healthy.

The year they won there was no Irving or Love and they were still taken to 6 games.

He has been the difference the last 2 seasons. You remove him and they lose to Houston. They lose last year also.

I don't expect much from Cousins this year. No way he takes 5 mil if he thinks he will be a factor.

Draymond Green was available to play in the last game and they still were bounced. If memory serves correct i think he played the last 2 games of that series.

You probably say that about every team in the league. Bitter pill for a bitter man once someone actually screws up the theory by making it.

I'm not bitter...seeing a Pro team tank and not be any better makes me bitter....if you think they have better young talent than the T Wolves you are wrong...and even in your convoluted mind they are I don't see them contending for a long time....I'm not bitter I'm realistic

I remember when thoughts such as this ruled the roost around here

Still proclaims The Tank to be a failure  after irrefutable evidence to the contrary. Would rather that they'd Kept bums like MCW and Noel as opposed to showing actual vision.

Not drafting Tatum may have cost the Sixers a title or Finals appearance.

As usual you sound like an idiot. You are the only guy (save for FavreFan) who thinks that it is a failure for a team led by two rookies to win a championship. Bite me with the they weren't rookies bullshit also. They'd played a combined 31 games prior to the start of last season. You thought Minnesota would be better and they weren't and aren't and now you are hopping on the Boston bandwagon. Jury is still out on Philly. They have 2 franchise players that came as a result of the The Tank. Enough said. Beat it til to start making better points.

Yeah and I thought Tatum was best guy in the draft at the time too. Colangelo made some terrible moves but I think Fultz will be fine. I'm not worried about him I just think and thought Tatum was better.

Fleecing the Cavs didn't hurt Boston either. The Sixers are still in great shape going forward.

Yeah and I remember you being a big Tatum fan too prior to the start of last season. Nothing like a damn Monday Morning Quarterback. How many arguments did you get into on here last year where you sung his praises exactly? Oh yeah that's right none with your hindsight is 20/20 slinging ass. Again anyone can be a cynic. That ain't hard though for some reason you think you are being profound and insightful with this bullshit.

Ironically the Cleveland trade doesn't happen if dumbass Colangelo doesn't give up the first round pick to get Fultz.

Might need to pump the breaks a bit on Ben Simmons HOF induction. Was just listening to Joel Meyers on NBA radio and he was openly questioning Simmons' work ethic and his love of the game of basketball. Was wondering if Simmons has been in the gym at all working out this summer. Seems to be on TMZ every night.

This isn't the first time a red flag has popped up on Ben. At LSU, the whole team turned on him and wouldn''t even pass him the ball. At the time I blamed the team, thought they were jealous of Simmons' talent, but now looking back maybe there was more to it behind the scenes. Antonio Blackney was on that team and he was one of the guys who wouldn't give the ball to Simmons.

Last year watching him play something about his personality kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Couldn't really put a finger on it, but something about him seems "off".

Now to hear this about his work ethic and love of the game I'm wondering if this guy is ever going to reach his potential or develop a reliable jumper outside 3 feet. He was a total dud in the playoff series vs Boston, think he even had 1pt in the final game (or one of the games).

So before we start calling this guy the next great one, let's pump the breaks a bit and see if he shows any improvement this year.

BUMP.

This was spot on. Simmons has regressed this year. Last night he looked like a clown out there.

He had a bad game. I think he had a triple double the night before. This coming from the guy that tells us how great Lonzo Ball is playing even after scoring 0 points. If Lonzo Ball had put up Ben Simmons stat line from last night this idiot would have erected a monument for him.

Kawhi makes all but 2 or 3 guys in the league look like clowns. I wouldn't put too much stock into it.

Simmons just can't shoot. He'd get away with that 20 years ago, now not so much.

It's amazing to me how some of these elite prospects can't shoot at all. Like, at all. As in, don't even know how to hold a basketball properly while attempting to shoot.

How the fuck do you play basketball with coaching every day over basically your entire life and never learn how to properly shoot.

Simmons is probably the worst shooter in the entire league regardless of position. He literally can not shoot a 5 foot jump shot. And watching him this year it's obvious he made zero effort in the offseason to improve on that despite how badly he was exposed vs Boston in the playoffs.

You must have forgot that you (Only with many on here) had Minnesota with better young talent at the time. How soon we forget and even with that the premise was still correct. Only team with better "Young talent" is Boston and their young talent is basically Tatum. Brown is cool but he isn't an All NBA kind of guy. I'd still take Simmons and Embiid over any two young players on any team in the league right now.

You are so senile that you seem to have forgot that this thread was started prior to the Hayward and Irving moves.

Do you want have me bump the original points made by you you old coot?

i think he will be fine in today's NBA. Brown has to play him off the ball a little more. Let him fill the lanes as opposed to always having the ball in his hands. With his speed he would be devastating. Likely All Star this year. He will be fine. I honestly don't ever think he will have a jump shot. His mechanics are bad. Maybe his will get a mid range game but I don't ever think he will be a 3 point shooter. Shot is too flat to ever have any range on it.
