And once again blaming the 3rd party candidate.

btw- Anyone voting for Muslims for public office is an actual enemy of the state.

I was hoping for them to sweep. Then they’d have the next two months to get their ‘message’ out to the public aided by the fawning members of the press.

I think they've already had that opportunity and a few little elections isnt going to change their messaging going forward.

When did Reason become a Trump troglodyte?

Its less about being attracted towards and more about being driven away.

Nah, Reason was a libertarian. I don't think they did anything to drive anyone away, other than the fundamental contradiction of libertarianism, which is that you eventually have to choose whether you're motivated by your love of people or your love of property.

I dont think you had to ever have been a democrat to be driven by the democrats into the comparatively loving arms of Trump populism.

lol we'll see how the more ideological segment of the party reacts to last night's clear rejection of their platform. My guess is they won't be saying "oh ok I guess since it doesn't play in the midwest we may as well abandon it". Just a hunch.

The Democrat Party panicked because Hillary lost and blamed it on the fact she isn't a pinko commie. She lost because she was a bad candidate. The Dems could've nominated someone who was actually likable with an almost identical platform (Biden). In that scenario, they would've beaten Trump by margins not seen since Regan in the 1980s.

If the Democrat Party wants to beat Trump, they would be wise to nominate someone in the mold of Biden. Running with socialists under the Democrat banner is one way to get another 4 years of Trump.

If you think Reason Magazine and Libertarians are pro-Trump, you should read the thoughts we have on his immigration, trade, justice, etc. policies.

The MAGA morons call us "globalists" because we believe that free trade is necessary for a strong economy and that immigration is needed as a growth engine for the economy.

Bernie Bros call us right wing and the MAGA crowd calls us left wing. I think that means Libertarians are doing something right.

CH is pretty clearly referring to Mr. Reason. For the record, you are right-wing.

LOL, have you seen my views on criminal justice, immigration, trade, Fox News, Trump, etc.? Yeah, I'm a regular right wing extremist.

Other than the economy, I don't really see my views lining up with the Republican Party, and even there my views with them are diverging as they embrace tariffs instead of free trade. I agree with Paul Krugman on trade, how right wing of me!

So actually it appears the narrative will be that despite losing everywhere the left Actually Won last night and are guaranteed a blue wave in November. Good. They are usually even more anti white and divisive when they think they are winning

This is what they're saying...

#OH12, 2016: GOP wins seat by 36 Points.

#OH12, 2018: GOP maybe wins seat by <1 Point.

Is that an indication of a pending swing or no?

You may not like the numbers, but R+7 districts are going as virtual ties. The numbers favor the Democrats in the House. Just under 70 seats are held by GOP members in districts that are R+7 or lower. Many of those seats are open so the Republicans don't even get the usual bonus that comes with incumbency. I don't see the GOP winning the House unless there are extreme, unforseen circumstances.

The Senate is another story though as the Dems have a tough Senate map to defend with a good chance for flips in MO, IN, and ND.

TL;DR, Dems will take the House, R's will hold the Senate and possibly expand lead there by a few seats

A few of the Justice Democrats won last night, it wasn't the fascist clean sweep some are making it out to be.

And the seat is up for grabs again in only a few months. I don't think it's a meaningful outcome. The Democrats of course pour resources into these races so they btfo the cheetolini, but ultimately it's pointless.

Polls can go right in the trash. If you are just choosing to learn absolutely nothing from 2016 that's your problem.

btw we are gonna have a muslim in Congress. absolutely disgusting. We've had dog killers and child rapists as lawmakers before, but I'm guessing never both plus believing in a religion that mandates the destruction of the country which she will be "serving" as a legislator. How did we fall this far? It's sickening.

This cannot be mentioned enough. There should be some sort of minimum term able to be held in order to do a special election. Basically, great you are now in congress for a month.

Name one country where Muslims make laws that you'd want to live in.

That's true, but it gives the winner incumbency for November, so it does matter to the parties.

An (ex)Democrat won the Republican primary for US Senate in Michigan. Funny-sad watching John James and Sandy Pensler try to out-do each other in riding DJT's dick. James won after he turned up video of Pensler calling Trump a broke 4th grader. [ Trump floated an offer for the Mets to the New York I-bank Pensler worked for back in the 80's and got laughed out of the deal. ]

Plus Michigan's poet laureate Bob Ritchie--self-described "pimp of a nation" & scion of Bob Ritchie Pontiac/GMC--endorsed John James over Pensler early on.

On the strength of down-home tv spots featuring her sporting a jean-jacket, cussing out potholes and shooting whiskey in neighborhood bars, Gretchen Whitmer won the Dem's gubernatorial primary. She's our very own Sarah Paiin, y0.

We've had a Muslim in Congress, Keith Ellison, and somehow he's generally been among the more sensible Democrats. He was the one they laughed at on TV when he said Donald Trump would win.
