Rozner mad at the fans for not understanding the plan and that 7 is more than 6.

Not a bad gig to have columns to recycle every now and then.

looks like he stole Eloy and Cease from the Cubs as well. Sure the Cubs got value, as did the Yankees, but there is no way either makes that trade today.

Who doesn't understand 7 is more than 6? It's been made perfectly clear in this thread that everybody knows 7 is more than 6.

I wonder how Rozner would feel if he was a copy boy for 5 years, proved his mettle, and then had to wait til next April for the benefit of 7 is more than 6. Only management couldn't tell him the truth. They'd have to tell him some bullshit or get sued.

Sorry that I'm not "understanding" the difference between right and wrong.

I have said from the beginning that Moncada is not critical to the rebuild. Him being a bust gives them much less wiggle-room but does not cripple its chance of success. Madrigal will be here this time next year and you'll have forgotten all about the strikeout machine.

There is no way Madrigal will be up next year.

And for all Moncada's faults, this is still only his second season in the league. He can improve.

I don’t see one thing Moncada does well at this point. Run I guess. Not helpful at 2nd. And his base running doesn’t seem to match his speed. Just a horrific disappointment. Durable in any other organization to get that return for Sale.

He clearly works the count and draws walks very well, he's probably a little too selective at this point. Either way he's 23 fucking years old, anyone writing him off as a bust is a fool.

What’s his OBP? Not in the overly selective range. He’s not walking at a similar rate to last year. And there is clearly a hole in his swing or he wouldn’t be striking out at 3x his walk rate. He also sucks defensively.

I understand their desire to get another year of control out of Jimenez and Kopech, but they didn't seem hesitant about bringing up Moncada, Giolito, an Reyes at the end of last year. Those call ups kind of led me to the conclusion that, if things went according to plan, we'd get at least one call up every year. Why the difference between that first set of call ups and Jimenez and Kopech?

Moncada and Giolito had already debuted in Boston and Washington.

I asked Michael Kopech if he'd be dissapointed if he didn't get called up this season: "Yea, I'd be disappointed. I know there's an aspect of it that I don't get to be a part of. There's a business side of things. But I feel like I've done everything I need to do." #Whitesox

That's kind of how I feel. Do you want a big potential piece of your future to resent the team? I don't think so.

Also, pitchers are essentially like running backs, if you get 5 good years out of them, that's great. To plan for year 6 and 7 seems pretty ridiculous.

Many good points on both sides really. The best thing would be if Hahn came out and explicitly said what is going on. Of course, if this is a service time matter then he cannot say that in public because there would be a complaint by the players union or whatever.

If these guys are what you hope they are, they'll never see the end of their rookie deals. If they aren't, it won't matter anyway.

So in a sense it's all kind of pointless.

I am inclined to think do not piss them off but they seem to know the deal.

ooooh, I just can't wait to see jimenez play in a meaningless September game whose final box score is about as predictive of future success as a spring training game

Are you guys off your freaking rockers?

The sports world has gone so crazy as of recently that people who want to see their team play it's best players are considered off their freaking rockers. What a time to be alive.
