One hopes it's time to make some hay these next three series.

This weekend: Hendricks, Lester, & Hamels vs. Hellickson, Roark, & Scherzer.

Nice catch by Bote. Lotta pitches by Hendricks already . down 1-0 and approaching 27 pitches in first. Not a good start.

Tuned in to see Contreras gun down the runner on first. I didn't realize what a good, tough catcher he is until that last series vs. the Cards when Lester and Hendricks were bouncing the ball off his chest and had him diving for shit WAY outside. He stopped every fucking one. The guy doesn't get enough credit.

Listened to this on our way up to Wisconsin. It was everything I love about baseball. A guy pitching a no hitter, Cubs hitters with plenty of near miss hits, winds shifting, controversial ump calls, a close game, and a drama packed ending. I noticed that Pat Hughes has a unique way of saying Eaton. He will do the same thing today with Tanner Ro-ork.

That might have been the least intelligent baseball play I have ever witnessed live, including little league. If there was a thought behind the act it was a poor one

I guess Hamels is the ace of the staff now.

Just tuned in 9-1. Lester had this issue last year too where he gave up lots of runs.

Why is Monty in pitching? I thought he was a starter now.

Ya why the hell is he pitching? I fully expect Lester to go on the DL because he is old and his arm craps out like this from time to time. Let Chatwood go out there and die.

2 days off coming on, for some reason they are pitching 4 guys instead of giving extra rest.

Its kind of disheartening how the batters have completely shut it down. Make a fucking effort you dead asses. Its not like you did anything the last 3 games either. Happ just watched strike 3 right down the dick.

I have a new approach to watching Cubs games, I won't bother watching them until they take the lead.

Yeah really poor effort today. Didn't look like they wanted to play at all. Once Rizzo got picked off 1st, I knew it was a wrap. Lester looks like he is done. Since mid June he has been getting lit up. All the hard contact has caught up to him. By then end of the season, people will see his numbers and wonder how the hell he was an All-Star.

what a depressing game to watch.

they need to put lester on the dl like last year. After he missed 2/3 starts he was back to normal.

Murph said Monty's next start was skipped so he had 10 days off, so I guess that's why he pitched yesterday.

Not sure what's up w/ this team. The game they won the other day 3-2 made you feel good but if they lost, it was a pretty pathetic effort.

But nobody in the NL is running away w/ this. maybe the other teams are going thru the same thing.

'It's my job to call it like I see it .... It's my job to be objective'.

Subjective and objective cancelling each other out separated by one sentence.

What a maroon.

"... a second leash on life."

A winner from Matt Vasgersian.
