One thing for sure, the baseballs from 1977 couldn't make it to the big leagues now. I also don't recall Hank Aaron with a maple bat.

Are the players better now? In general, sure, but has Sheehan ever heard of the bell curve? What would Willie Mays be with juiced balls, maple bats, charter flights, nutrition and weight training? You think he'd "struggle"?
