Hit and Run just did a interview with some guy that has covered Yu and Hamels. He basically torched Yu. After hearing the interview, you can see why a lot of teams probably had no interest in him this offseason, and why the Cubs should have probably passed on him as well. The more you hear and see on Yu, the more Theo and Jed need to be held accountable for this awful signing.

Cubs (and probably most of MLB) definitely have a loose definition of 'simulated game.' The video from Darvish's today includes a center fielder playing catch with himself with a second baseball, a shortstop not wearing sunglasses so he uses his glove to shield his eyes instead of field, and a guy at second not even wearing a glove. No other fielders. Then you have 10 front office, coaching and training staff sitting right behind the catcher just watching. This is simply live BP, but with only two hitters. Reports say Caratini and Bote were mashing anything close to the plate, and from the look of the pitches in the video he was throwing at 50% effort. This doesn't look like a guy a couple of weeks away from contributing.

If he pitches at all rest of year he will be bad and down the stretch they don’t need give away games or more bullpen games because the starter isn’t any good . They may as well write this year off from him and just shut him down so maybe they can salvage a couple years out of that deal .

He apparently requested an MRI because usually players tell the medical staff what to do. This guy is a mental shit show and i would prepare to not see him until 2020. I asked an athletic trainer what they thought was up with him and they said with his complaints it sounds like his UCL has gone to shit again and his tricep is covering for it thus the soreness. That would also explain why he left the cubs medical staff to meet with his surgeon from his past ucl procedure.
