How the hell does a guy try to make a play on a ball that ends up dropping, what, 30' away laterally from him?

It was around the trade deadline. Someone called in about making Bote part of a trade, and they said that he was just a guy. Nothing you could make a deal around.

I mean, that is definitely correct about him being the centerpiece of a trade.

Quintana's performance yesterday was better than Hendrick's today.

Heywards got 3 hits. See if Joe's theory of "you're hot you sit tomorrow" continues.

Didn't Bernstein say an emerging Jimmy Butler was a nothing and then he turned into a yearly all-star?

Over the years Bernsie has been about pedigree, meaning how a guy was perceived coming out of high school and how high he was drafted into pro leagues. And while pedigree guys have a much better chance of turning into stars, there are plenty of examples of low prospects turning into solid players. Piazza is in the Hall of Fame and was drafted in the 62nd Round.

Bote is probably just hot right now and will come back to earth in due time.

I was in Pittsburgh a couple of weeks ago. In the seventh inning four small black helicopters buzzed the stadium (not a flyby, very low flying just above the roof line), the were trailed by two bigger camoflague attack helicopters. Everyone cheered like it was planned. They continued to buzz around for the next hour and people got worried. I saw later they were training. They picked a strange time.

The air and water show is this weekend, probably just some practice going on.

I'd rather have 500 clowns on the Ryan or Kennedy protesting than these Dbags flying low and making that obnoxious noise all week.

Of course you would. That's what makes you a special kind of stupid.
