Tonight it's the "great"James Shields on the mound. 13W-33L, 5.35 era in his time with the Sox. He has his moments but overall he's epically bad in Sox history. His apologists have used every trick they can to praise him. He's an innings eater, teacher, clubhouse leader, could help the Cubs, to cover up how bad he's been. Sad, but I enjoy seeing him get bombed. But, he has to be laughing all the way to the bank.

Trotting this guy out to the mound is awful. They should release this guy and let someone else have to watch him try to pitch. He might be the worst pitcher in White Sox history that I have ever seen as a starter.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Abreu this close to the plate. He’s trying to are away Junis’ cb. I like it.

That outfield, 3B , and C positions are the worst in all of baseball. And that starting pitcher is garbage personified. Talk all you want to about all of this "talent" in their farm system, they need a helluva lot more than what they have in the minors. Then consider the stats of the short-stop and 2nd baseman? I haven't given up on either of those two guys but it looks really BLEAK. :( :( :( :(

Singles hitter Abreu with another bomb...could put up 30 HRs again.

76 RBI

So it seems like Abreu is a second-half hitter....

Isn't his knee all sore? I mean, I get it, but the guy has a bad knee.

He’s the most insecure manager in baseball history. Every time he feels like he lost the team he plays the only HS trick he has. At this point I don’t think it would have worked on me in HS. I’d tell him to go fuck himself.

Maybe that's why they're not bringing up Kopech and Eloy. Keep Ricker away from them.

I'd love to see them grab Girardi.

He's got the money. Who knows, after New York and all that bullshit existing in relative obscurity in White Sox land might be an attractive gig for a guy who just wants to be around the game and do the job.

Please. Stop.

Girardi will never, ever stoop to do an interview with this organization. He will be the next manager for that team up north after that clown wears out his welcome.

Renteria is not going anywhere. Williams and Hahn have given him the thumbs up.

Once again, jr refuses to negotiate non field talent with agents. He only does so with players out of force the only managers who will agree to this are first time guys or desperate retreads. Giraffe isn’t in that category

Girardi is a pipe dream. No way he comes here.

Renteria won't be the manager next season. I'd imagine someone like Vizquel is.

He's a great example to young hitters about the importance of keeping your hands inside and going with the pitch.

A lot of high school coaches were tyrants. The good ones weren't. They had rules for sure but treated kids pretty well. You can give a kid a lesson without being a dick head about it.

I think that just by listening to some of Kopech's interviews, that he has a huge ego and wouldn't take much shit from a Renteria. Kopech is going to have to be managed with kid gloves methinks.

I like Girardi. Doubt he'll come, though. HE probably knows what a shit show Reinny is.

That's what you call somebody with a .230 avg and an OBP under .300 becaise they're not really an MLB hitter. Even Moncada, with his 170+ strikeouts, has a better OBP & OPS.

This. Except I believe Renteria will be here next season based on Williams and Hahns comments. Vizquel will be their next manager, not a real manager like Girardi. And then they will continue to wonder why nobody takes them seriously and stations like ESPN and the Score ignore them.

I just looked up Alex Gordon on Baseball Reference. He's a career .257/.339/.413 hitter. His career WAR is 34.1 and he just hit his 168 career home run. I don't know I guess he's a slightly above avg player but when his contract expires after next season he would have made $114M ( I don't think they're gonna pick up his $23M option for 2020). That's fuckin nuts.
