Mac played college football at Ball St.
Zawaski tackled McNabb in high school.

Telander might have been the best score athlete college-wise. He was All-Big Ten 10 at Northwestern.

Mac played college football, you sure on that?

David Haugh played at Ball St

I could have sworn Mac said he played football at Ball St. but never saw significant time. Haugh is definitely the best personality with the most athletic accomplishments. Can't think of anyone else outside of those four who have any athletic claim to fame.

I don't remember Mac ever talking about playing football at Ball St.

Degenerate Dave might be the greatest spotter in CFMB history though.

I'm guessing Larry meant "current" Score guys. So Hamp, OB and Buffone don't count

Hub claims he was on the Michigan football team. But as good dolphin has said, that's a lie.

And no, Mac never played college football.

Larry might be right. He might be 2nd to Haugh. But that's only because everybody at the SCORE were nerds and/or fat asses in their younger days. So it's nothing to brag about.

From what I understand, Larry was only decent at baseball. I've never heard him brag about any other sport but baseball. That's not a great athlete. But good enough to be 2nd at the "current score".

Now that I think about it. Larry is probably 3rd. Shepkowski has talked about playing multiple sports in high school.

Holmes & speigel have said (paraphrased) they will use their keen sports understanding to help the listener understand the finer points of sports. Two boring hosts.

His account of playing "college baseball" was quite an equivocation.

On the one hand, he used his status as a former college player as evidence of his athletic prowess.

On the other hand, he later conceded that he played only on a club team.

Club sports at the college level are open to anyone and require no athletic ability to participate.

Laurence later named the gym he works out at every morning and said any listener was free to challenge him in whatever athletic competition they preferred. He was confident, he said, that he would triumph in any contest. Sounds like an opportunity for some of you!

Tbone should challenge him to golf, and CHUSE to bowling.

The bowling I was mildly facetious with.

Golf is absolutely an athletic competition as TBone would walk the course...so Sir would have to as well.

Walking a golf course. That's an iron man challenge right there.

Try it.

And then do it while shooting 78 like Tbone does.

It makes me kind of sad that Laurence doesn't have anyone in his life who cares about him enough to take him aside and tell him to stop embarrassing himself. He's been doing things like this for years and I thought he would have grown out of it, but he's now in his 40s and still massively insecure.

and De Paul is not a particularly good club team, as we have detailed at this site

Sir might be a little younger than me but we are contemporaries. I remember in high school playing on summer teams with several college guys from Loyola's club team. De Paul was their big rival. I am a tremendous slouch but even I, being 3-4 years younger than them, thought that they sucked at baseball. Those dicks wouldn't buy me beer either.

Putting things in perspective, Bernstein played club baseball in college. My guess is that the competitive level of club baseball at Duke must be several degrees higher than that at De Paul.

I got W_Z. He runs a lot, I think, so he's at least in the team photo.

My friend Ken played second for the DePaul club team and he has to be about the same age as Sir. I'm gonna ask him about Sir's abilities.

The only person on AM1000 who comes close to being as much of a liar/exaggerator as Laurence is David Kaplan who just said he dated Kyra Sedgewick in high school, but mispronounced her name when he said it.

Was she cheating on Matthew Broderick when she spent the summer at Jewish camp?

You guys have obviously forgotten Danny's ability to turn on a 95 mph fastball and dunk a tennis ball.

I was at DePaul around the same time and this is the first I'm hearing that we had a baseball team.

My guess is that he is a good high school level baseball player. He was a starting catcher (so he says) for a decent program (H-F) back then. That's great and far above what most of the listeners achieved athletically. Then Sir ruins is by talking about his pro prospects.

The reality is that his high school baseball was better and more impressive than his college baseball.

I'll tell you one thing...if Lawrence was at DePaul when I was he sure as shit never showed up at Alumni Hall or Hayes Healy for some pick up hoops. And basically everyone who played sports at DePaul ended up playing pick up ball when they weren't playing their chosen sport.
