His defense is gonna make us rage. He has the worst range in the league. Best bat on the team now though.

He has a good bat but his OPS is 134 points lower than last season and 201 points lower than 2 seasons ago.

He was not fully healthy when they activated him, he struggled a bit at first. OPS of .943 over last 28 days.

So baez to SS? Is this the end of Bote?

I think so. I'd guess Baez to 3rd and then SS and Addy bench when Bryant comes back. Where does Zobrist play? He's been our most consistent hitter all season. You already have a rotation of Happ, Schwarber and Almora.

Like KD insinuated, im guessing Bryant is not coming back this year. Hope I'm wrong.

My first thought was Addy's hand injury is a lot worse than they've shared.

It would be more about Addy's injury than Bryant's. Last reported, his rehab has been going well so I wouldn't worry about it guys. He will be back by the 1st unless something goes horribly wrong.

I think this signing is more about scoring 4 runs in 4 games vs bum pitching.

Bryant at 3B, Baez SS, Murphy 2B. And Heyward/Schwarber/Zobrist/Almora in the outfield. Heyward can play CF on some days. No more Happ and Russell please.

I think there is a subsequent trade in the works involving Bote and Caratini for Scherzer.

Russell can't keep getting place appearances. Either he is hurt or the league has figured him out, or both. Put him on the bench for defensive purposes, or put him on the DL and stick Baez at short.
