I know I was critical of his pitching mechanics and his slight frame. Did not specifically predict any elbow issues. Just that he would be a candidate for some issues.

It was an exciting debut. I was more interested in the Sox game while Kopelbon was pitching.

There are a lot of batters going up there unafraid to hit against him. I'm glad he is not walking anyone because in both games he has given up plenty of hits.

I think the positive to take away from the hits, was that he got into a bases loaded jam and got out of it.

It was sheer luck. He was getting tattooed and a center cut fastball was hard hit directly at Anderson.

He looked great until that inning. In that inning, the fastball was straight and the slider was hanging. Maybe he was out of gas.

I'm just happy he got enough run support.

I think what one should look at this year is he is around the strike zone and not walking a ton. He is not afraid to challenge. More aspects of "pitching" he will better over time.
