He's been throwing high 90's/triple digits in the 7th+ inning in Charlotte. They are holding him back.

3rd time through the order and batters are just going to try and barrel up the first thing they can hit. If he's not handing out walks in the early/mid game that'll be the tactic opponents take with him. Verlander famously saved his super high heat for the later innings, giving hitters an entirely new dimension to contend with the third time through. I suspect the Sox are trying to build a similar profile for Kopech.

I would of thrown him out there for the 7th.

I have not seen him hit triple digits. Either they are saying to him not to do it, or he is being conscious of it. I have only seen him hit 98 so far.

I think the positive to take away from the hits, was that he got into a bases loaded jam and got out of it.

It was sheer luck. He was getting tattooed and a center cut fastball was hard hit directly at Anderson.

He looked great until that inning. In that inning, the fastball was straight and the slider was hanging. Maybe he was out of gas.

I think what one should look at this year is he is around the strike zone and not walking a ton. He is not afraid to challenge. More aspects of "pitching" he will better over time.

This is kind of what you should look for. He should have really good games and some bad games, but most important is developing and maintaining control of his pitches...it takes a bit to develop the intelligent side of pitching against major league hitters.

He has pulled back on velocity for more control and movement. A straight and wild 100+ gets hit a long way.

I would say throw him out there another inning, but he is obviously under a mandate from Cooper to hold back. Kind of unfair to send him out there for another inning if they don't want him throwing his absolute nastiest stuff.

I understand 2 times through the order. The 3rd time, change it up and throw 100mph.

It was his first real start. He looked good. Hopefully theyve built the confidence in him that he doesn't need to tear 100+ mph lasers to get major leaguers out. With the velo will come some control issues, he can locate the heater but he has moments where he loses it.

Quit using your slanderous quote which thus far these so-called Wise Men have allowed to slander me. You are obviously a low life so I expect you not to quit this slander. The notion that I would denigrate American veterans is just a big damned lie by you. I would LOVE to meet you personally to adjudicate this issue.

Shut the fuck up. You aren't meeting anyone and you certainly aren't going to "adjudicate" anybody or anything. You claimed you wanted to talk sports, yet 1/3 of your posts have been in the Trump Year 2 thread, and almost half of your overall posts are in the politics section. You should probably just keep your inane thoughts confined to that section, old man.

It's not really even out of context. Rather, The Hawk simply has problems stringing words together to form coherent thoughts.

I love all Americans equally. And I would certainly not tell a large group of them that they don't deserve to live here.

My point is that I see The Hawk and see someone that should be respected LESS than a very large number of Americans that have never served. Not because he served, but because of who he is. Serving in the military is no 'get out of criticism for free' card. I'm not blindly respecting anyone. It is earned, and it takes more than serving in the military to get it. Especially since what he thinks he seemingly fought to protect is not what many Americans want him to fight to protect.

When I need to thank a veteran, there are plenty others I know personally that deserve my praise.

You are just a jag-off for doing what you did. You made up a disgusting tag line which totally slandered me and I do wish that I could meet up with you personally. I never asked for anything in terms of respect or special treatment from anyone.

You are entitled to your beliefs whatever they are regarding what you want out of the military and I am entitled to mine. In my opinions combat veterans have "earned" respect for their service. All of them do. Because they didn't have to do what they were asked to so but did it anyway. Now some of these same veterans did dishonorable and bad things before, during, and after their service and deserve no respect for that.

I find you a disgusting cowardly piece of shit for doing what you did. That was a serious charge against my character as one who has done nothing on this board other than argue points of view. You don't know me. I never attacked you. I argued with you but you and assholes like Frank like to try and bully people as the cowards that you are.

He completely changed the meaning of the sentence by omitting what preceded that string of words. But of course a bozo like you wouldn't recognize that. What he wrote was the epitome of out of context.
