Never a doubt given the comparative acumen of the two combatants.

Are Rodon and Kopech legitimate No 1 type starters? When I saw Rodon a few years ago i definitely thought he was an ace barring injury.

Yes. They both have ace stuff but work ethic has been a problem for Rodon. Hopefully this shoulder injury was a wake up call for him and he keeps working hard. Working hard is not an issue for Kopech. That dudes a beast.

What do you base that stuff about Rodon on? As for Kopech, I see a massive ego that really needs to be handled. Who will do that? I have heard that you are a scout. I've been involved in scouting myself as well as coaching and teaching some very talented prospects. I'm just asking you for what you base this degrading Rodon on? All I see is a very mature young pitcher who looks very confident on the mound.

Not answering for Keyser, but Rodon was a fatass the past two years

Anderson and Moncada are just kids.

Counting them out is foolhardy.

That said, Anderson sucked for the better part of 2 seasons. He seems to be coming around, and hopefully it's a real sign of development.

The White Sox have one of the most extensive and successful shoulder strengthening programs there is. When pitchers leave they continue using the program with their new teams. The rub is a player has to actually do the exercises for the program to be effective. Hopefully Rodon learned his lessen and starts taking things a lot more seriously.

Been trying to follow the Cease kid a little and from what I heard from first Levine over the weekend and then Don Cooper, the talk is that he might be better than all of them. 3 No. 1 (at minimum) types and you can compete with anyone. I still would like to see better numbers from their position guys but not bad.

He had a nice stretch to end last season as well, and then came out to lay MANY turds thru Memorial Day this year.

I hope the pendulum swings so far to Keyser's side that he is able to beat me over the head with it. Sure he is young and has time to develop, but I just don't see him being anywhere near as good as Keyser thinks he is/expects him to be.

It doesn't seem like you grasp the concept of a swinging pendulum. See it starts from one side and moves its way across the scale to the other. It doesn't disappear on one end and reappear on the other.

don't forget Dunning as well. Unfortunately he had to be shut down for six weeks (has already been throwing and will pitch in Arizona this fall). He was shining as bright as any pitching prospect in the organization before the injury.

I believe Rodon himself acknowledged that he needed to get himself in better shape in coming back from surgery

That's not bad if he learned his lesson by 25.

So you're saying .294 is an improvement?

That speaks volumes, my friend.

I wouldn't go that far but he has a chance to be really good. Cease carries a little more risk because he's already had a Tommy John surgery but they did a really good job of refining his mechanics so that should lessen his injury risk going forward along with drastically improving his command that changed his profile from a reliever to a starter. If he continues on this path he should be in the rotation sometime next summer.

As far as the position players go I agree but help is on the way. Eloy and Collins are going to be huge additions to the lineup that will add a desperately needed dynamic of hit, on base and power. Hopefully they add a 3B to the mix this off season and this will look like a completely different team next year.

yes, it's an improvement as is the .421 slugging and the .715 OPS
Can we stop about the obp? He doesn't walk. Accept it.There's other things in baseball besides walks. Someone might want to tell Moncada that. He's struck out looking 50 times looking for walks

Right. Like hitting for average, or 25+ HRs, or playing near gold glove type defense. Anderson doesn't do any of those either. If he did, a sub .300 OB% might be acceptable.

Sure, if you want to stop with the stat that is more tied to winning than anything else, go for it.

He doesnt HIT enough to justify the never walking.

He wouldnt be under .300 if he hit for a decent average.

It's really simple. The guy makes waaaay too many outs.

wOBA is better than OBP. The reason wOBA is better is because a walk is not as good as a hit.

Moncada who looks for walks .304
Anderson who doesn't care too much for walks .306

He's working on that. Defensively, he's just about there if you'd been paying attention.
