good idea by almora but didnt get it to the 3rd base line.

No. Giving up outs vs the best pitcher in the league down late is never a good idea.

i thought he was going for a hit rather than sac. just bad execution.

Almora took a step back this year in developing more game power. If he isn’t going to develop his power, he needs to improve on other areas of his game.

He doesn’t have to be Vince Coleman, but he should become a student of the running game. 20 well timed steals would be nice. Tonight he led off the 5th with a single, that’s a nice time for a steal against a very tough starter. He was a statue at first.

Does Almora have one bunt hit this year? He should spend the winter with Brett Butler and learn how to lay a few down.

ya i agree. he can't do this in the playoffs. maybe Joe won't really use him much other than pinch running and defense if they get there.

With his speed he at the least has to know how to bunt well.

Strop 1-2-3. Bullpen's been great. Let's win this one.

It's either some bad mic or I hear thunder on the broadcast.

If there's rain, they have to finish this one out regardless of how long it takes right?

Idiotic for the umps to go two pitches in when it was clear that the game wasn't gonna get finished.

If they bounce this until tomorrow then it really won't matter. He can pick up where he left off. Do they get a 26th man for the roster if they had to play part of a game and then a full game tomorrow?

i can't get the score feed from the game. not sure if it's a contractual thing or not thru mlb.tv. would at least hear some baseball talk during the rain delay.

is this rain suppose to last all night into the midnight hours?

august has really been a weather shitshow for the past 12 years or so. i think every year this month unleashes flood storms and such. it's really become annoying, and pretty dangerous.

this better go quick for the cubs.

Last night was the 12th time this season Jacob deGrom pitched at least 7 innings while not allowing more than 1 ER.

That leads all major league starters, with Aaron Nola second (11), Carlos Carrasco third (9), & Corey Kluber fourth (8).

I still can't get or find an answer to this question... Do these teams get the 26th player today because its technically a DH even though it might just be 1 extra inning? If this is considered a DH then it appears they can for the 2nd game only but idk if this technically counts as a DH.

Beginning on MLB Opening Day up through August 31st, a club can temporarily add (recall or select) a 26th player to its MLB Active List on any day where two games are scheduled, as long as the second game was scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. If the second game was scheduled less than 48 hours in advance, a 26th man can be temporarily added to a club's MLB Active List for the second game of the doubleheader only.

I don't think this applies to a suspended game...but I'm not sure.

Why would it be a DH? Did you mean restricted to a late pinch hitter or something?

Murphy was removed last night as a defensive replacement. Contreras pinch hit for the pitcher's spot, which was the 1 hole.
