I wouldn't say the Germans are loved in the former occupied territories, but in the Baltics, Poland, CZ, Hungary they are vastly preferred to the Russians. Again, we are led to believe the Nazi's are the ultimate in bad-guys but among the people who have lived through both it's not so universal.

Russians/Soviets are a bit odd in their actions as a communist country. You would assume a communist collective want to live pretty harmoniously within its own borders and share/provide all the wealth and resources at its disposal. That would lead one to believe that invading and conquering are not really part of the manifesto.

I guess there are times when you need to have strategic geographic access to raw resources or sea access etc I guess but why world domination thoughts?
