Z!!!!!!!!!!! Thats awesome. Series win and you took both games vs Degrom and Thor. Now sleepwalk through this one so you don't die of exhaustion with the flight to ATL tonight and then to Philly tomorrow night.

Six back should just about do it for the Brewers as far as the division goes, right?

Doesn't mean anything unless you get the W.

Your guy's Cubs have certainly taken the Hamels/Murphy spark and ran with it.

That dummy Kasper was talking about deGrom on the show today. He said his win/loss record doesn't matter. I can't believe these stats guys are really that dense. Does Len not understand that if the starting pitcher gets a win, the team has also won, and vice versa with losses? These guys sound so dumb trying to be all smart about ignoring a pitcher's W/L record that they forget the whole point of playing the game.

That is the way I though of it when I think about W/L.

With Báez at third and no one out I’m shocked he didn’t try to steal home for the hell of it.

You either think Jacob DeGrom should have done better to get the Mets the win, or you think the offense should have done better to get the Mets to win. That's all there is to it. If DeGrom is giving up 75% less earned runs than the average starting pitcher, I'd say he did his job and did it well. If the Mets lose, or if he gets saddled with a Pitcher W, Pitcher L or no decision, it isn't his fault.

What more could deGrom have done last night to get a Pitcher win? Answer this question specifically. He had an RBI single AND he gave up one run over 8 innings. He literally was a net 0 in runs. You think it is unfair to expect his offense to maybe provide him one run of their own?

You missed my entire point. When deGrom wins, it means his team has won. When he loses, his team has lost. I am not assigning blame for either outcome. To say his win/loss record doesn't matter, means you don't care about the Mets win/loss record.

Did DeGrom get the W or the L? Did Hendricks?

The answer to both is, "No."

And when we talk W-L record, it is STARTING pitchers, and it is over the course of MANY games, or even MANY seasons. Sure it happens where a guy throws a good game and get tagged with an L. A guy can also get rocked in the cold and in the rain against the Braves, and get bailed out later in the game by the offense. Those things absolutely happen, but they happen on occasion. DeGrom has gotten a Win in 40% of his career starts. That is more than just an occasional event.

When you look at numbers and see that a pitcher is 53-40 over 130 career starts, it tells you something about him.

What went wrong for the Mets that they're this bad with Syndergaard and deGrom being this good? I missed it.

It means I don't use a team's win-loss record to analyze how good an individual is, or how positively or negatively that player contributes to the team.
