Purdue opens tonight vs. Northwestern

I'm excited to see what the Brohm Squad in its 2nd year. It's also nice to see the lights at Ross-Ade get some good use.

Between NU/Purdue & the Sox game, I'm thinking of the spread I have to set up for this evening's glorious festivities. And the best part is that this is the only time of the year I can remotely justify still having Directv  .

It used to be better when Northwestern was getting their brains beaten in every week.

Wow, pretty early for a Big 10 matchup....whats the reason for this?

Ratings...

I mean I remember when the first month of college football was nothing but football factories destroying I-AA schools. This is at least more interesting.

The SEC has been doing it for quite some time.

I think it is great, makes things way more interesting.

I am just surprised teams go for it...I would think teams would want at least 1 "easier" game before jumping into a conf game

Maybe...but when it's Purdue, are the "easier" games really easier?

I'm actually psyched for this weekend...ND/Michigan, Washington/Auburn (6 vs 9), Miami/LSU, FSU/VA Tech

How quickly tonight’s Bears game is discarded.

Bog Ten begged teams to do this three years ago, I think.

Not a fan of Northwestern's uniforms tonight. A white helmet with a purple "N" would be fine but that cat logo looks kind of...not good.

Looks like Thorson is starting.

I think I saw Boilermaker Rick arguing with someone in the crowd

Nice start for Northwestern. INT on defense and a nice drive for a TD on offense.

That kid on Purdue looks pretty good. Pulled a Cliff Alexander recruiting hat trick. Hope he has better luck. Probably already has.

Always a good idea to change QBs for no reason when your offense hasn't been stopped.
