Yeah Fogcutter was quite something. Went there a bit in the mid 90s, I will probably develop lung cancer from the 2nd hand smoke I breathed in there.
My parents would actually buy carryout ribs for family dinners from there every couple of months. I would never have wanted to see the kitchen area, but
the food was excellent. Is it actually still standing?

It is, although it still looks like a slight breeze could knock it off it's foundation. What a dump.

I've done a few of those spots. I remember when the Stones decided to do an impromptu show at the Double Door the night before they were to perform at Soldiers Field.

Got arrested one night making a Bogus right turn on a red light on Wellington while on my way to Hip Hop Mondays at the Elbo Room back in the day. I think they would have let me slide but the chick that I had with me started going off on the damn police. Played the racial card and I don't think she knew that I was driving with Bogus Insurance. Booked me up at the Belmont/Western station

Reggie's yeah and if By Beetle You're talking Black Beetle on Chicago Ave Yep. Think I've been in Metro too.

Black Beetle used to make their own Lager as I remember. That was my Tuesday night spot back in the day.

SUBT yep also.

We played the double door the day after or two days after the Stones did. :)

The Black Beetle was purchased by a friend of mine (Kit) about 8 years ago and she renamed it to The Beetle, instead of Black Beetle.

The Fog is alive and well. Do not let the dumpy exterior fool you..it's a great bar...owned by really good people, and the food is FANTASTIC.

One of my best friends essentially grew up at the "Cutter". His Dad was the proprietor/owner for many years from the '70s into the '90s.

Anybody here remember going to Cagney's, just over the border a few miles, on Green Bay Rd?

Another placed, Kreuser's Lagoon, pretty much was lost when a little section of Green Bay Rd was diverted. I turned 18 there. Couple pool tables inside...but its claim to fame was that in addition to having horse shoe pits outside, they had two outdoor shuffleboard lanes...Just like at grandma's condo down in Boca. We loved that dump of a bar.

I've been to half of those. Tequila Roadhouse was in the old Exit space on Wells, right? And who knew sini had his own bar?

Definitely!

She'd probably be mad at me for posting that painting though. I think she sees her work as having progressed way beyond that. I always liked that piece though.

. Tequila Roadhouse used to be off North and Wells. One of the best open bar hookups that i can remember and their packages were solid too.

It wasn't where Exit was however. Exit was that grunge rock place off North Ave and Elston as i remember. They had cages in that motherfucker. Tequlia Roadhouse was a few blocks down.

Before Exit moved to North and Elston, it was on Wells, where Tequilia Roadhouse was.

Yeah I only went in Exit once but it was House music night. I caught it after it moved. Didn't know it used to be in the same spot as the roadhouse. They were cool in the Tequlia Roadhouse. I put 2 or three afterwork things together for my co workers back then and we had a helluva time.

Yep. Great guy. JB water twist, IIRC. Knew him from The Lodge which had many characters from downtown. I believe the bar was south of Glascott's on east side of street.

Did you ever get any custom tailoring by Anthony?

???. No.

My favorite Lodge character was Wally the Wiretapper. I see he died in a Near North side bar but can't find the name of the bar. He was an 'associate' of wiseguys. The Lodge owner was an Italian guy and before The Lodge became a 'singles bar' it was a semi hangout of some 'associates'.
Butch McGuire's changed everything.

Wally 'the wiretapper' Pritchard RIP
