The President has commented on his displeasure with Nike signing Kaepernick. This football season I'm sure he'll continue to go after the NFL anthem kneelers again . Last season I only watched Bear's games and the postseason. If I have to do the same this season so be it, but I hope I don't.

"Have to"?

My God, this reads like a Julie DiCaro tweet.

On a very real level it is ridiculous for him to profit from his protest. It would be like MLK signing a sponsorship deal with Greyhound after the bus strike.

I'm sure he will donate some of his earnings. I think it needs to be all of it.

Yup. Been a huge Kap supporter since day 1 of the protest but this is a bad look.

This was the goal from the beginning. His playing career was dead so he came up with this.

Nike is stupid. By this decision it will cost them business. Big Time. By hiring this asshole, Nike has alienated a large portion of the US market. OF course, socialists in other parts of the world will love them because of their hatred for the US.

I’m with you. I will not watch ANY NFL games this year, except for most of the Redskins games, Thursday, Sunday and Monday night games. Outside of that, NONE (unless there’s a few I sneak in).

this whole thing is fascinating to me. i'm trying to look at it that way instead of any other way because if i do, its really irritating.

i think colin kaepernick is a dink. i think this whole thing was somethign that would of never happened if he was the starting QB. I think its not that sacrificial to speak out when you are holding a clip board most likely. He's now aligned himself, in the name of social justice, with a company thats historically known for umbrous labor use which seems a bit absurd.

I think teams are ok to not want the hassle of a marginal starting talent when compared to the distraction he brings.

I think the flag means different things to different people and its ridiculous to be this outraged by this.

Its a sport. its important to an extent. but not this important.

nike is world wide. the stock took a hit but will rebound. its been a great stock over the past 5 years. 60% of their business is international where they could care less about this crap and i'd wager only 30% of the US market will even care when it really comes to what to buy. the us market has shrunk anyway, their international market is growing rapidly. They'll be fine.

I think its interesting what their relationship with the NFL will be in the future. I don't think the NFL is happy about this. Especially airing it during nfl games.

The team responded Wednesday night noting Reddick has worn the ripped shirt as far back as July, long before Nike released the ad. Reddick also wears New Balance gear.
