We used to do that with our little league tournament team. I couldn't believe it at first.

Many people do not think there is actual coaching in baseball. Many of them members of this board.

At the major league level, how much does a manager matter?

Are there really people here who think coaches at the major league level have no effect and can't teach?

Man that's silly.

I do. I think that there are many here that think the coaches talk, eat sunflower seeds and stand at 1st and 3rd waving their arms all summer. Beyond that I think some believe you just roll out and recreate in baseball for the most part.

It is taking an extreme amount of self control for me not to post erotica featuring a baseball bat in this thread.

So that's what it looks like when death flashes before your eyes. I love how Lofton tries to look cool after but there's no recovering from that.

that is just sick.

I've always said, Randy Johnson has to be the most intimidating pitcher ever.

This Orioles coach reminds me of a coach I had in little league. Excellent coach. He would teach us the little details of the game. He was so smart at baseball. I learned a lot from him. This guy could have been a good coach in MLB. I still remember some of the things he taught me to this day.

Because baseball is all about small details that mean a lot. And he knew it all.
