Montage of Jimmy selling phones was terrific.

Definitely not blown away.

Good episode but nothing special.

I love Sepinwall but I'm starting to have doubts.

He was always spot on with my tastes.

Was the bag of money Saul got from the ceiling from Jesse or Walt? Can’t remember if that was from B.B.

I mean the start of the super lab build at the laundry was cool. And like I said Jimmy selling his phones in the parking lot was great. But that was about it.

Howard scene was okay, and Kim blowing off Mesa Verde for another PD case wasn't bad.

Maybe Alan got confused because the preview for next week looks way better.

I mostly agree but I see where he's coming from. Iirc first ever look in this series at Saul during BB timeline, Jimmy going further into a point of no return towards being Saul, and the beginning of the superlab all feel pretty significant.

i'm sure it's pretty inevitable to think, but kim's future seems to be one that sees her leaving NM and not having some dramatic ending like dying or something like that. i get the feeling that they're showing her a bit disenchanted with Mesa Verde, trying to find meaning in her work through working charity cases. and while jimmy thrived on that because he had no emotional attachment, kim cares too much. and she'll probably start to see it as a lost cause, with how some of these people just don't take her bailing them out seriously enough. she sees jimmy detach more and more, and that's probably going to come to a head. i'm not sure if his dabbling with criminality is the final straw...but it looks like she's heading in the direction of starting over somewhere else.

somewhere we've probably already gone over this.

She probably moves to Omaha, and that's why "Gene" re-locates there.

This season hasn't been great. Its relying too much on "here's where that thing from BB started" and not its own story.

I mean its still good but there's a big void where the Jimmy-Chuck-Kim-Howard drama was.

How much story is there considering we know what Jimmy eventuality becomes.

i don't think there's going to be more than one more season, so most of it is going to coast into "breaking bad". however, i do expect either the finale or the last couple episodes to deal with post-BB gene stuff that should be really interesting. this is probably going to be a "bridge" season.

I agree. It's starting to feel like we are getting the less interesting stories that were left out of Breaking Bad. Maybe we can see Jesse getting his drivers license!

it'd be nice if kai's fate isn't as cliche'd and predictable as it's being set up to be. he wears "body count raiser guy" all over his face, but it's not really anything more than a character to kill off that we don't know. he may as well be wearing red.

speaking of predictable, it was easy to see those kids get theirs. but i can't say i wasn't totally satisfied with the result.

A little off topic....can't help but wonder....would a spinoff on Mike Hermantrout been more interesting? BCS spent a lot of time giving background in Mike in Season 2.....really love Mike's character.

I think it's just enough of Mike's story as is.

See, I thought it was so obvious he was gonna be a problem for Mike that they are actually gonna go the other way and have him be some sort of unexpected help to Mike. Usually they don't too lazy, obvious storytelling.

Agreed...it’s too obvious. I kind of felt the same way about Chuck’s private letter to Jimmy (that Kim would hide it and Jimmy would unexpectedly find it), but that turned out to be nothing—so far.

I really was thinking, Kim was crying because she rewrote the letter since it probably bad mouthed Jimmy more.

This.

It really dumbfounds me that Kim seems to be miffed that Jimmy is not completely devastated by Chuck's passing, but after last episode, we see that she had a unique sense of admiration for the paranoid wierdo.

I also wouldn't doubt it if future episodes show that Jimmy himself was somehow responsible for spawning Chucks' electrophobia.

One of the scenes in last episode uses a home I used to play football as a kid. We dug a kicking tee in the lawn thus ending our use of said lawn. Cool to remember on the big screen. Mom kept talking about making money off the crew using our driveway. Now I get it. No idea why they chose that house.

Edit... Previews for next episode are quite intriguing. Hope it live up to billing.

i really liked the "prost" scene between the german foreman and mike. that of course makes me feel something bad's going to happen.

i thought huel's voice was a lot softer and not as deep in "breaking bad".
