Lol, to think it's a lock that the Cubs win the division is ridiculous at this point. To say winning 1 of 3 is good, is also ridiculous and fucking dumb. They still have 3 against Arizona, which could be ugly. They may have to deal with this makeup game Thursday. They better handle their business and sweep the Reds and White Sox.

they were in the same position last year, staring at an 8 game road trip. what did they do?

won 3 of 4 in MIL to knock them out, then won 3 of 4 in STL to knock them out and win the division.

This year, its all home games remaining except in AZ.

HawaiiYou thinks it's the 80s and wants to sensationalize things.

oh and by the way, Washington has a doubleheader today and the makeup game Thursday. I dont hear them bitching one bit. That's what you have a bench for. Only the Cubs cry about start times and days off and day games. Theo and Joe should shut the fuck up.

The offense is just brutal...one fucking hit. Only reason they scored was because the catcher couldn't hold on to a foul-tip strike, a wild pickoff attempt, and a bloop hit over a drawn-in infield.

please win tomorrow for my health's sake.

Q owns the Brewers.

If both teams reach the playoffs we'll need Q to go 2 of the 5 games in the first round.

We have all seen great defense in our lifetimes but that play is in a different kind of category....WOW!

Not saying that Caratini should be the starting catcher but....

While Contreras has a bigger upside with the bat (even though he has been a disappointment in the second half) has a better arm and can make plays in front of home plate maybe better than any other catcher, in terms of the little things a catcher does Caratini to me is better. I like how Caratini sets up as a target, with the palm of the glove facing the pitcher, while Contreras palm seems to be always facing the dirt as the pitcher gets ready to throw. I believe this also helps Caratini frame pitches better than Contreras. There were a few pitches yesterday where I believe Caratini got a strike where Contreras would not have. In terms of blocking pitches I don't think the Cubs are any worse with victor behind the plate and in terms of just running a game it seems like the game is much smoother with Caratini then Contreras. Thankfully with the rule changes we are not subject to Willson going to the mound at least once an inning but it does seem like Willson calls timeout and goes thru the signals again a little too much.

Again not saying Victor should be the starting catcher but I do wonder if you gave the starters a truth serum and asked them which catcher would you prefer to throw the ball to, I would expect Caratini would be the more popular pick

I thought he called a great game and bringing his bat didn't hurt.

Well said.

Also, there was a shot of the dugout with 2 outs and 2 strikes all ready to celebrate and a very unhappy looking Contreras. Which is fine, I want him to want to be out there.

I think they kinda leaned on Contreras too much this year. He's already caught 7 more games than he did all of last year. He leads MLB in games caught.

Contreras could use a break, he got to play left and rest up last year.

all day long, nobody bitched after the win last night.

Amazing the calm that one win brings.

That was the clincher no matter who wins tonight.

wrong. if you're up 4 or 5 games then 1/3 is fine, not if you're only up 2.

another example of overthinking it.

Counsell, a tough blue-collar player, should know better.

You take out a guy that is handcuffing them, for fucking Tyler Saladino? The the Cubs are salivating.

Immediately they scored a run.

If I'm Chase I'm seething at the lost chance at a win.

I know a lot of people don't care for these low scoring games, but this is the kind of games that are played in the post-season. A couple great plays by Almora, though he also let a ball get past him for an error earlier. I don't know if anyone else noticed it, but on Bryants double (just missed a HR) he did not keep both hands on the bat. He released with the right hand as he used to.

Cubs another game scoring one run.

Seen too many games like this this year out of them and against not the best pitchers.

Wilie fucking worthless. Sit him down for a few days.

Still a chance if anyone of these guys has heart.
