This was a pretty dumb and unfunny thing to say.

It's dumb. He's stupid. And sexist. Probably racist.

He's none of the above. He's definitely not dumb, he's one of the smartest comedians there is, his peers can attest to that. I don't believe he's sexist either, he's been complimentary towards women on many different occasions. Anyone calling him a racist is probably just a fucking idiot.

really, Jimmy Fallon? Some of the female employees were in tears? get. fucked. if I were norm, I would've torn Jimmy apart for being spineless. he'll sit there, show after show and star fuck whichever celeb they toss his way, do the song and dance, but when it comes to a comedian doing basically his job, all of a sudden Fallon is unwilling to play his part of host and, hmm, I dunno, bring the subject up in like, an interview perhaps?

Fuck Fallon. Norm is better off only doing Conan.

I agree with this completely. Fallon is a cowardly, spineless piece of trash. He's buddy buddy with Norm until this fake outrage controversy and now he shows how much of a pussy he truly is.

Can we fast forward to the point where you cry about me being mean and ask if I want you to quit the board? If anything I want you to mention the mult I made that responded to you once.

i listened to norm on howard too and he seemed genuinely heartstruck that it went down the way it did. i don't think his apology was dickless, but rather he apologized for the confusion.

these broads "crying" that he was still going on fallon just show what kind of professional world we live in. my sister works with millennials and has said they have had to cater and coddle these brats incessantly. they can get sick time for headaches, or for "having a really stressful day". it's really pathetic.

norm isn't the brazen, insult-you kind of person outside of the stage. he's really low-key and i think this really threw him off. he said he didn't like print interviews. well, now he probably won't ever do one again.

If you believe his gambling stories, can you blame him? I'm sure the Netflix money is pretty good. He's got a kid.

Do they have to coddle them instead of tell them "no" because that is the age range most likely to fill those particular positions and they don't have a lot of other options?

I suppose what they consider to be a "really stressful day" is something a normal person would only consider to be a blip on the radar?

Norm really doesn't lose any credibility in my eyes for walking his harmless comments back.
Let the crybabies celebrate their little victory, and when it blows over, he can say whatever the fuck he wants on his show.
And if there was even a possibility that Netflix might cave, they need to remember they gave a show to donkey-with-downs face Michelle Wolf.

I'm ready to forgive him as long as he makes a third apology.

it sounds like they coddle them because there aren't any better options out there for people their age.

there are a few millennial-age kids where i work but they seem to conform to the middle-to-old-age mentality the office environment enforces.

What choice did he have? People lost their fucking minds over a pretty harmless statement. He was placed into a lose-lose situation and Netflix may have pressured him into issuing an apology. Norm's famous for not giving a shit but maybe he really wants this Netflix show to work, especially considering Letterman, one of his idols, is an executive producer on the show.

If only the people knew that the Down Syndrome in lieu of retarded was a joke on Norm Macdonald Live before Netflix removed the entire series from Youtube, they'd really be up in arms.

I just caught up on this. Another controversy by Norm.

So i guess he went on the view.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH7QgHs3ZrE

Man he looks broken. Norm is the kind of guy who would not care about this but I guess something happened where he had to come on this show and cower down.

Sad. He looks completely defeated. This is what it's come to these days I guess. At least for celebrities.

I googled Norm’s net worth. $1.5 million. Should be much much more. So don’t blame him for caving. The Netflix money is probably good and he wants the show to do well (I’ve loved it thus far).

Norm has been open about his gambling issues over the years, itt's not a stretch to call him a degenerate gambler. I believe he has lost everything he has 2 or 3 times due to gambling.

In the end he'll be alright. I think he was taken aback by just how much heat he received for the comments, I don' think he expected that in his wildest imaginations. What saves Norm as opposed to most others in the industry is that Norm is revered by his fellow comics at an almost unmatched level, at least for living comics. He'll always have his supporters.

agree on the last part. in that VIEW video you could tell Whoopi was really pulling for him. She's probably the one who asked him to come on. Norm usually would never come on a show like the View and try to fix his image for PR purposes. He's more like a i dont give a shit type of guy.

Norm is the ultimate "don't give a shit guy", so much so it's probably had an adverse effect on his career. He tore OJ to shreds during the 90s even when he knew Don Ohlmeyer was buddies with him and it ultimately cost him his job. When he came back to host SNL he ripped the show on live TV, here is the link to his monologue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofXxinOtPiQ
He also had the greatest monologue of all time for the Espy's, the only time that show was ever watchable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mhUIIhcTb8

Norm has also shit on the view plenty of times in the past, Barbara Walters especially, who he has a particular dislike for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4At94Uow5oY

I'm going to watch it sometime this weekend and I expect it to be funny, because he's the funniest person who has ever lived, but I doubt it will live up to the impossible standards of the first two seasons of his video podcast.
