what is it with these players being babied with their injuries?

Schwarber with his minor back ailment, heyward being out so long with his hamstring. And countless other examples this year. Fuck, Bryant out 2 months with a shoulder just from swinging a bat?

These are minor things and 20 years you were expected to get your ass out there. You would never have your manager and general manager making excuses for you.

I'm sick of these players being babied. Get your fuckin ass out there, you make a lotta money.

Andrew Luck didn't play for almost two years with a lingering phantom injury and only started throwing an NFL football 3 months ago.

And what's had Marian Hossa sidelined for a year?

And Kawhi doesn't get a pass either.

The cynic in me says a contract that was front loaded but the creepy crud doesn’t sound so pleasant

Cubs about to enter their 4th straight year of post-season ball...not surprising players feeling the impact of the extra month each year of high-level competition this late in the season. Red Sox have babied Chris Sale to keep him as close to 100% as possible for the post-season. Cubs don't have the luxury of an 8 game lead in the division. It's on Madden to anticipate his players needing more off-days earlier in the season. Too late now that they are in a dogfight for the division.

I just saw the thread title. Plus, if it applies broadly, it applies.

That good old formaldehyde allergy that we've all invented to get out of work.

Zetterberg's pulling the same thing with the Wings, goldbricking when he really should retire. Looks like Hank'll end up on LTIR for the season and then announce his retirement and get traded to the Coyotes next off-season. If the Coyotes need the cap hit to make the floor. Datsyuk and Pronger both appear to be off their books. Hossa has 3 years left on his deal.

Hockey players are giant babies.

Even Corey Crawford won't play because he can't handle meth.

This seems really sketchy. Not buying it.

When you are paying athletes what you could buy a franchise for 30 years ago, you want to protect that investment.

You also don't want to see a power pitcher throw with a bad hammy. That thing is going to bite every pitch and you can't help but react to it. Every pitch is going to look like its coming from Chatwood.
