"Big game" James Shields against the O's. We're witnessing history for one of the worst pitchers stats wise in Chicago history for a guy with more that a cup of coffee stay.

I just do not get it. We have a terrible team. Shields has no business getting a regular turn in the rotation. Give one of the kids a chance to face major league hitters and see what their potential is.

I don't think they have more than 5 starters on their active roster. The rest of the starters are either injured or still in the minors without accrued service time.

Chuck's really not bad....he loves filling in, that much is apparent. Brings out a lot in Stoney.

good.

good riddance. Stone can finally relax tonight. He feels more comfortable around older broadcast partners, Bennetti is too immature

your dumb. I was just coming to post that he has had a pretty good year on a bad team. In terms of innings.

186 innings and on pace for 210 or more.

How many pitchers will have 200 innings this year? Probly under 10, and Shields is one of them.

Their kids have been starting all year. Shields has given a lot of innings this year. What's one veteran out of 5? And he's been productive. 186 innings and counting, been a hard luck loser a lot.

Yep. Chuck is okay by me. Met him twice (Button 48) and he was a true gentleman.

Good interaction with Stoney.

Looks like Swirsk is bringing the fellas some luck tonight.

If Big "L" James gets out of this inning unscathed, Renteria should pull him before he blows this thing.

The Orioles should be embarrassed to field a team like this.

My brother sent me this; not sure if it has been posted already, but it made me laugh:

Lucas Giolito has the worst ERA among qualified pitchers but has more wins than the qualified pitcher with the best ERA, Jacob deGrom.

Giolito: 10-10, 5.76 ERA

deGrom: 8-9, 1.71 ERA

I thought they were stupid 40 years ago when I was 12. I wondered why the guy with 2 doubles and a HR didn't get a win. I wondered why when a pitcher made an error that led to a run, it was unearned. I wondered why other managers didn't copy Earl Weaver. He sat on his ass waiting for the 3 run homer. And won doing it.

"Pretty good year"? That is hilarious. He sucks and has sucked every since he has been on the team. I give the guy credit for going out there and not just collecting checks. He's not a bum. He is just a bad pitcher.

It was a pretty good year for a 36 year old. Also probably his best year since he was with KC. I give him credit for making changes, trying to earn his money. He could have changed nothing, earned his DFA and been home on his couch collecting the same check. It's a bit of hyperbole saying he sucked this year.
