No. You asked if there was anything more boring than a late season NFL game, and I gave a concrete example of something that was. You've danced around it since.

As Far as Disinterest goes the NFL had won team which won 0 games and another that won only 3.
The NBA had ONE team who we all knew was going to win the Finals before the season even began. Real exciting stuff there.

And yet that One team probably loses if Chris Paul doesn't get hurt. If they were so dominant no way that would have mattered. Cleveland needed season ending injuries to All Star players in order to Eke out a game 7 win yet to hear people on here tell it it was foregone conclusion since you never can bet against Lebron.

Fact remains that without injury the NBA Finals would have looked completely different from what MANY on here expected it to look.

You know it is a great shoutout thread to the board when it immediately starts the worst non-political conversation on the board which is "The NBA sucks, right? No, it doesn't suck. It's great. Actually, it does suck. NFL draft sucks!".

Yes. The final 2-3 minutes of MANY games in the NBA game which take nearly 30 minutes in real time to play out because of foul, time out, foul, foul, timeout, foul, etc.

The off days in MLB, NHL, and NBA playoffs are a big problem. There is simply no reason to be playing hockey or basketball in June, or baseball in November.

The NBA absolutely needs to cut down on time outs. One thing I have enjoyed about hockey is the flow and speed of the game. The one time out per game thing is great, but obviously the NBA needs more than just one. The only thing that slows down a hockey game is the intermissions.

The total length of an NBA is fine. But the endings are often torture.

Boilermaker University talk qualifies as the worst non-political talk on this board. For the love of god does that suck!

They did that last year in order to speed up the game. NBA games wrap much faster than either Baseball or Football (2 Sports which Frank Loves by the way)

Yep! I'm following this thread and thinking it's still about sports.

Um.. what? That is demonstrably true. It's easily the shortest time of investment in a game between the three sports.

But like Rick said, this argument sucks and doesn't really need to continue.

Baseball with all of the righty/lefty pitching changes doesn't drag on forever? What about guys stepping out of the box/catcher pitcher conf. at the mound/throws to first/pitcher/pitching coach/manager conf. at the mound while the reliever warms up? Do you mean to tell me that the last 2 min. of an NBA game takes longer than that? WYC?

Yes it does because MANY on here have no interest in killing it. They live to bash the league.

Most of us are here because we love sports. I love the four majors, and it is merely a matter of degree. I don't need to do the "your sport sucks thing" because it doesn't unless it's soccer.

For me, baseball, football, and the NBA all have a pacing problem. The NBA's issue is solely with the last five minutes or so of a game where teams are over the foul limit, and they burn their timeouts. NBA has the quickest overall game time, but my problem is specific to the ending. It is anti-climatic. Sometimes, 30 seconds can take 10 minutes.

I have no problem with any of the major sports. I don't watch Hockey but Hockey talk on a sports station doesn't bother me. My problem is with the thinking that people really only care about Their sport when it is the off season. For the most part they don't. If the score discussed off season NBA for the vast majority of the time during August that would piss me off too. There is nothing really interesting going on at that time of the year.

In real time, the final sixty seconds of an NBA game overall takes much longer than the final sixty seconds of an NFL game. Sometimes, the 9th inning in baseball moves along very quickly as well. Both the Cubs and Sox games yesterday were like this.

A number of NBA games wrap this way too. Yesterdays final 2 minutes of the Packers-Vikings dragged on forever but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone complaining about it.

Not really. Sometimes both are quick finishes and sometimes both are excruciatingly long. Not a big difference.

This is simply not true but is peddled by race baiters such as yourself. I agree the NBA has changed and I don't like the reliance on 3 pointers, but you can't say the changes are all bad. I know you'd prefer Jerry West to Kevin Durant, but we aren't going backwards.

That's a gay response. :)

It happens in the NBA more than elsewhere though. Look at the Packers & Vikings yesterday. The final 4-5 minutes and the overtime was played very quickly.

Probably has more to do with the fact that the NBA plays 5x the number of games than does the NFL.

Getting back to the original post, this board is great. Everyone here is great. I love the diversity of posters more than anything. There is a way to appreciate everyone here if you try. I just love it when Brick argues with a newbie or CH gives me crap. Great place all around, and I'm sure we will be around for a long time.
