This seems to be a try to compete with the popular Wonder Woman relaunch. I really do not remember this version at all on the Marvel side. In my mind Captain Marvel was always Shazam on Saturday mornings traveling around with some old dude in a Winnebago. Then after you can jerk one off to Isis.

I loved Captain Marvel Comics growing up. He was a dude back then. A few years after that,Marvel turned the hero into a black woman. It was the 3rd incarnation that it became the current character.

I get it’s just a teaser, but it doesn’t really make me want to see it more. Brie Larson is a pretty good actress, but not really seeing anything from her in the trailer.

Agree as well, and the only counter I have is that they didn't want to reveal too much with the first trailer.

I have been extremely lukewarm about this film since Kevin Feige stated Captain Marvel will be more powerful than Thor in the MCU. In the comics it's always been an accepted fact Thor is stronger because he is a God.

If they didn't want to reveal a lot maybe they shouldn't have teased an "is she really from Earth or not" story line by immediately showing her getting brainwashed

Obviously it doesn't matter in the long run, the next trailer could be great.

when you see a fully loaded blockbuster video in the trailer it's like "ohhhh this takes place in the 90s, doesn't it?"

Also when they faded into the word "HERO" from "HER" it makes you think when she/xor says "I'm not what you think I am"

Also concerned Brie isn't exactly an athlete, so the non-cgi action scenes are going to be A LOT of transformers style quick edits/jump cuts.

Any movie Marvel makes, is not gonna be a bust at this point. I will watch it, enjoy the nostalgia of the 90s, what it does to the overall story, but this will probably be lower on the totem pole next to Ant-man and solo Hulk movies for me. This kinda feels like a forced female lead movie. Is it what we need? I am not sure.

I love that this is setting up Secret Invasion. I hope the current Nick Fury is a Skrull & the Avengers are unknowing puppets who think they're "protecting the Earth" but are really just keeping all the other aliens out so the Skrulls can come in & do a full takeover.
