About?

Just the way the game is played (mostly about strikeouts). Says it would actually be a more interesting game if hitters put the ball in play, went the opposite way, beating the shift, worrying about launch angle, how guys can't hit the high heat because they are worried about launch angles.

"We're headed to home runs, strike outs, and walks, and it is not entertaining. No speed, no hit and run. Every aspect of a five tool player should be displayed ever night, not just a few tools."

"I hate when an infield is playing back, conceding the run, and the hitter pops it up."

"Hitters today don't think of making contact."

(Abridged quote.)

Hard to argue but teams don’t pay for that other stuff. I saw an interview with Billy Beane where he said hitting a home run is the most efficient way to score a run. This is the direction of baseball until FO’s start paying for guys who run, play defense and put the ball in play.

No idea if he is right or not, but as you say, that's where the money (and professional training) is going. Is college different?

It’s a battle for college coaches. They try to teach a way of hitting then the guys go away for the summer and are taught a different swing. Then they have to try to break them down again. The problem with launch angle is they’re skipping the most important step which is learning how to fuckin hit.

You clearly forget the Danny Pasqua experience.

Yep. Those were especially noncompetitive swings. Didn't look good at all.

Oh, Avi swung hard. He just missed each pitch by about 10"

Why would you take the pains to rearrange your pitching rotation for this series and then trot out this dollar store lineup.

Baller move would have been to bring Eloy up.

Knew even when it was a 3-1 count that Moncada would strikeout looking.

He's gotta figure this out.

Edit: Do it for Lovell.
