DeGrom went 6 innings and gave up 1 run. That's the 25th consecutive start he has allowed three runs or less. That’s a major league record.

Manny just threw one away to keep the Cards alive. He’s an awful SS. Go back to 3B Manny. That’s where you belong.

During the Dodgers game they showed Gavin Lux get his minor league player of the year award. Very well deserved. Great kid had a great year.

Jeff Bannister got shit canned by the Rangers. Not a shock. He’s not the guy you want for a running rebuild.

The Braves clinched the division today. Vegas had them at 74.5 wins and most “experts” had them finishing in 3rd or 4th so of course Levine Line says he’s going to vote for Joe Maddon as Manager of the Year. Guys a shill.

Assuming they don't win five of their last eight, this is gonna be the first team to finish under .300 since the '03 Tigers, right? What fun.

And despite that, over roughly 140 career starts, DeGrom has a .568 win pct.

Scherzer, Nola and deGrom are about +2 in WAR over any position players in the NL. deGrom might end up with a higher WAR than wins:

Can't give him the mvp, how valuable can be truly be if his team is .500 when he pitches every 5 days?

He deserves the CY though.he's the best pitcher in mlb this season.

Sure you can. He’s doing his job better than anyone in the NL. It’s not his fault his teammates suck.

You really are going to argue that DeGrom has been more valuable to his team than Yelich or Baez have been to theirs?

Yeah that's a tough argument to make. Maybe he'll get a vote or 2.

Professor Flakey was also mentioning Freddie Freeman in the discussion.

I see Cub fans acting like Baez should be a frontrunner on this meanwhile, Yelich is better than him in most offensive categories, plays well in the field as well and is carrying a much bigger weight on his team for teams separated by .5 of a game.

I was with you on the first part.

They are not equal defensively (Baez is way more valuable) and Baez is carrying a ton of weight for a Cub team full of guys having down years. Yelich has Aguilar, Cain, Shaw, and Braun all having good years.

Yelich is a hard guy to dislike though...
