See I don’t think they are wound tight at all. This is essentially the same group that’s been to the playoffs 3 straight years , won a WS after a late inning collapse but the heat of omg the Milwaukee fucking Brewers is going to make them sweat ? They’ve lost their 2 best bullpen arms and the 3rd best can’t get anyone out right now . The offense is in a collective slump . I still think they win the division and make the NLCS .

wilson and edwards are both junk at this point. wilson had a chance to close it out and did what he's been known to do as a cub as well, and fuck it up. this should've been an easy 6-2 win. maybe 6-3 at worst.

i think the cardinals are getting all their suck out against the brewers. but at least the series is in chicago.

I'm a baseball idiot, but didn't Baez go on his best run in the 2 spot? Maddon keeps talking about having his best hitter high in the lineup to get more at-bats and then puts him in the 5 spot.

You really are spot on with your comments about Maddon's managing strategy. Actually, Baez was 4 and not 5 spot. but still. I just would like to see a stretch of two months to see what would happen with consistency in the lineup 4 or 5 of the 7 days.

Yeah, but in his defense I never thought he was going to be at this level by the end of the regular season. If the bullpen wasn't so scary right now, you could pull Lester as soon as lets up 2 or 3. And, of course, you never know if the offense is actually going to score a run either.

Jesus, I read this and went to MLB.com and thought they were down 3. It's still 0 fucking 0.

It's Lester's last start of the regular season. He can go 110-115 pitches if needed. They have Q to be able to pitch on short rest on Sunday if things get really dire. Win the division, and Lester can essentially skip a turn.
