yeah,Norm Macdonald spoofed the piss-poor quality of uni/unabomber sketch in terms of actually resembling Ted Kaczynski on SNL. Macdonald played a police sketch artist who sucked at drawing so he put hats/hoodies and sunglassess on all his sketches to cover up his lack of drawing skills.

Sounds like it's not certain whether Zodiac in fact wore glasses during the commission of his crimes; and there is a pic of Ted K in specs at this link:

tho it's many, many years after the Zodiac did his thing.

No clue whether or not Zodiac or Teddy K wore glasses back then. But most people who spend as much time in formal education/their nose in books as Kaczynski did find themselves resorting to at least readers. Plus wearing unneeded glasses while committing a crime as a ruse isn't unheard of. Easy way to change one's appearance and confuse witnesses.

there are plenty of pictures from his younger years and none of them show him wearing glasses. even when the zodiac was in his killer uniform, he had glasses on. so it wasn't because of reading or situational things. the guy wore glasses. ted didn't.

theres also the claims (theories, i suppose) that this sketch wasnt the original, but was done after the witness had already spoken to a forensic artist. in this one, the most famous, the claim is the woman was remembering more the artist than the suspect. the show Manhunter suggested this theory.
