Until Rodgers gets his quarterback rating above (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's he can't be first on this list: http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/play ... backRating

Enjoyable content btw.

I'm not going that far but Brees is certainly making his case as top dog.

Well I cant argue with you on the Stafford one. MVP material is kind of an arbitrary term.

Look at FF ...he's MVP....in reality if he took a knee during the Anthem he's another Kaepernick

That's a pretty bad opinion. Do you not realize what Russell did as recently as last season?

No and nobody does...and no one cares

Too soon to throw Mitch in the top 10?

He has to be between 15 and 20 after yesterday.

I agree with Walt about Wilson not being top 4

No one quoted a comment you made about Mahomes so there is nothing to agree with unless you also think he's overrated.

You can still think Mahomes will be a great QB. Understand that this matchup is brutal and the kid is 23 years old.

Brees or Brady first.

I'm fine with Brady being first it's simply based on legacy. He hasn't been good this year.

Looks that way, although Denver has a vasty better defense than TB - still, looks like Mahomes first major stumble this season.

It seems that MANY that like a QB like to give all the credit for great drives to the QB, and MANY that don't like the QB like to give the credit for great drives to the poor defense. I must confess that I am one of the MANY.

Mahomes is top 7. He’s a goddamn ambidextrous QB. Ridiculous.

Denver pretty inexplicably took the pressure off him. Dropping Miller into coverage as much they did was...inexcusable. I could write a million words on this but the short of it is: He faltered, looked errant and got rattled for the first time, but got his shit together in the 4th quarter and won. You could say they won this because of Kareem Hunt or because Denver completely let off the Chiefs throats once they got that 10 point lead, but ultimately credit to the QB who wins over the ones who dont. Top 7 is crazy though, especially when the guy I think is hottest on his tail had a way better game against a stronger (though clearly not what they were last year) all around opponent.

An aside about Mahomes--this forced "showtime" nickname needs to stop. And the league, or whoever is telling the MNF booth/Booger (which is honestly so bad I am going to stop watching the ESPN broadcast) to just obsess over Mahomes, needs to cool it. I get that they want a new Star Is Born QB narrative because the Rodgers/Brady/Brees old guard is nearing their twilight, but I felt myself starting to really get sick of him. He played like shit in this game and they kept acting like it was the greatest performance in league history when he rolled out and chucked the ball into the stands. Part of this is the MNF booth being so unbelievably bad, but part of this is Mahomes' people and the league forcing this guy. "Showtime" hopefully died tonight.

America, I will give you this for sure -- you can't complete one pass to Kelce the whole first half?? Something is wrong with that offense.

Iirc Miller was trying to wrap him up on a blitz when he completed his left handed missile. Had him around the legs.

That is in this year's highlight reel for sure.

GOATS
1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Drew Brees
3. Tom Brady

ELITE
4. Russell Wilson

NOT-QUITE-ELITE (YET?)
5. Cam Newton
6. Matt Ryan
7. Philip Rivers
8. Jared Goff

OBJECTIVELY GOOD
9. Patrick Mahomes
10. Alex Smith
11. Carson Wentz
12. Matthew Stafford
13. Kirk Cousins
14. Ben Roethlisberger
15. Andy Dalton

GOOD, BUT SOMEHOW FLAWED
16. Andrew Luck
17. Derek Carr

CLINGING TO RELEVANCE
18. Joe Flacco

SYSTEM BABIES, DYING STARS, RAW YOUTH, "SOLID" VETERANS, COACHES PETS
19. Deshaun Watson
20. Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky
21. Baker Mayfield
22. Case Keenum
23. Josh Rosen
24. Marcus Mariota
25. Jameis Winston
26. Ryan Tannehill
27. Dak Prescott
28. Blake Bortles
29. Eli Manning
30. Sam Darnold
31. Josh Allen
32. C.J. Beathard

-----------------
I struggled a ton in the bottom-3rd, especially past 21 which to me is almost like another tier drop-off right now. BUT I wont create another tier here (or bump Watson/(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky/Mayfield to CLINGING TO RELEVANCE) because I believe those three still carry the SYSTEM BABIES, DYING STARS, RAW YOUTH, "SOLID" VETERANS, COACHES PETS tier's chief designation: they are one week from being able to have a shitty enough game to put them in the bottom 5, or maybe even 31st. My man C.J. Beathard is tough as nails but he has 32 on lock. Anyone complaining about volatility in that tier, asking how guys go from 30 to 20 and back...that's the nature of the bottom 3rd. These are all penny stocks and its a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately contribution that propels them up or anchors them down. I am starting to have had enough of some guys. Bortles and Prescott in particular, they are going to have to do more for me to put them ahead of the 1st/2nd year guys. I had Bortles stock going up, but he actually dropped a spot in the rankings. I just dont have any faith he can keep it going.

Mahomes did not play well enough to jump another tier, but he is a week away from doing just that. Right now Goff is solidly better than him, so I put Goff in NOT-QUITE-ELITE (YET?) while leaving Mahomes in OBJECTIVELY GOOD. Cant argue with either of those designations. I am giving Ryan the benefit of the doubt with these losses that are really not his fault. He is playing his best football maybe ever. If Atlanta had some wins he'd be #5.

Again, unless someone starts shattering real records. Not meme records like "FIRST QB TO HAVE 3 STRAIGHT GAMES OF 4 TD'S WITHOUT TAKING A SACK WHILE BALANCING A PLATE ON HIS HEAD" nobody gets to ELITE this year. And nobody gets into GOATS without a ring, so we wont have a new admission to that class until the year is over. Though Russell could do it if he just goes apeshit and carries Seattle to the playoffs, I am growing wary of this possibility myself.
