Good point, not very enthusiastic.

The Cubs magic number is one though, so a Brewers loss in their game works just as well.

Can you hook me up with the info on if the Brewers are the favorite to win their game. Thanks for the help.

I apologize for the late info but I think they are now favored. I wanted to let you know because you asked so nicely

The first call to Waddle and Silvy is a guy complaining that Jason Benetti was doing the game and how biased he was against the Cubs.

No confidence in them winning tomorrow.

I finally read through this thread.

Pretty much every single post by CH is so wrong it's incredible.
Did he have a stroke? I'm kinda serious...

The Cubs have home field advantage tomorrow. Literally their next game.
At what point would Strop (realistically) help in this game today? Remember part of the problem with the initial Strop injury was that he isn't designed to pitch multiple innings....

Not much to say about this game, besides what a pathetic effort at home, and what a choke. Anything outside of a World Series appearance this year was going to be a failure, so they are knocking on that door. Arcia goes 4-4, that shows you how shitty the pitching was. Wilson is useless. That's another L for Theo. They lose tomorrow, someone needs to be fired for the collapse.

The Baez strikeout in the 6th was the killer. Fastball right there, and missed it. Ciseck is bad now, and Kintzler shouldn't see the mound, awful bullpen management in the 8th. Yelich is a creepy looking fucker.

If the Cubs lose tomorrow, where does this rank amongst all-time choke jobs? Didn't they have a 5 game lead in the division around mid-September?

If they win tomorrow, all of the panic doesn't really matter since they are essentially in the same spot as Milwaukee, but, with a loss, does this team get a shake-up of sorts or do you keep all of the same pieces in place, and hope for better health next season?

Brutal.

Barring a great post-season, how does this guy get another chance on the Cubs next season?

Cubs went 16-12 in September and Brewers went 19-7. Not a choke.

the brewers are playing at the level the cubs should be playing. they look more like a complacent team that expects success to just happen. saturday's 2-1 loss to the cardinals and yesterday's game just illustrated why this team won't go much farther.

From the outside looking in this could be true. It is almost like they are the stat heads just waiting for the numbers to be true or the projections to come in. "I mean, they have to right?"

I do feel badly for Cub fans though. This to me seems similar to the Hawks having the best record in the league and getting bounced.

Their hitting approach has been dog shit since Chilli got here, fuck going the opposite way and falling behind in counts.. There are only like 3 guys on this team that can go OPPO..the rest are pull hitters, just barrell up the ball as much as possible.

Probably right. But would fans (all fans) bitch the opposite if that is all they did? BTW, they won more games than last year. Just more close ones. I get it the home runs are sex and popular. They actually need a mix of hits but mostly more guys on when the homer or double happens.

Doubles seem to be way down too, going OPPO is great in theory but we have a bunch of mashers. Schwarber, Baez, Contreras, Bryant and Happ are not OPPO guys.. Zobrist, Murphy sure.

Did you know the Cubs played 40 games in 41 days? I'm glad everyone in the media reminded me.

I haven't really done the anti Cub thing lately but everyone had a screwed up schedule this year. Basically, all that early rain and crappy weather and weird summer overall screwed a lot of team's days off up.

in the end, the Brewers as currently constituted are the better team. Bryant is not 100 percent, the bullpen was without Morrow and Strop, Darvish only pitched what.....5 games before he was shut down. Meanwhile, the Brewers are completely healthy and have maybe the best bullpen in the N.L. The Brewers are a really good ball club NOW. But, they will lose guys like Moustakas most likely. while the Cubs get their injured guys back and perhaps get a legitimate leadoff hitter over the winter. I hope these two teams get to play again in the NLDS, as it's a great rivalry now and only going to get better.

The Brewers also figured out how to unload some of their younger talent. Everybody questioned how they could take on Lorenzo Cain since they had so many outfielders. But they managed to unload promising prospects like Lewis Brinson, who hit a whopping .199/.240/.337 this year for the Marlins, and they didn't worry that they were going to push Travis Shaw to the bench in order to pick up two veteran infielders at the trade deadline.

still, the brewers have a very flawed, top heavy lineup. Unfortunately for the Cubs, Arcia decided to bring his bat to the game yesterday
