That flawed, top heavy lineup played .730 baseball in September...not very flawed.

The Cubs were in the game and had time for someone to hit the ball....then Merlot Joe outsmarted the rest of baseball and went to his lockdown bullpen in the 5th inning.

The Brewers may not have been a better team all season, but they're clearly the better team now when it counts most. Great run for the Cubs, but they just have too many holes this season.

why did we have to play game 163?

why didn't head to head record count as the tiebreaker? That's how it used to be? What changed?

it was always a 1 (sometimes 3) game playoff until the 90s where they implemented a tie breaker off the records for division ties. 8/9 years ago they changed it back to a game 163.

and it should be like that. decide it on the field.

I still dont see what the extra wild card team has to do with it.

If the Cubs won the division by head to head tiebreaker, how would things be different?
