Business Insider has a piece saying that Barstool's big advertisers (Twitter, Budweiser, Dunkin Donuts and one other) haven't pulled their sponsorships since the initial harassment story broke. On top of that, with PMT being arguably their biggest IP and relatively scandal-free, I'm willing to be they're not hurting THAT bad for sponsors.

Portnoy may be trying to sling some extra overpriced merch ($90 for a quarter zip is Ralph Lauren pricing) with the current outrage as cover.

If you listen to their podcasts, there has been no change in the ads. The big companies stuck with them and the smaller companies pitch to a decidedly male audience and won't leave.

Pres is just trying to monetize controversy. It's what he does every time.

at the end of the day, advertisers want the eyes and ears of a certain demographic, one which is increasingly difficult to reach. Barstool has that demographic.
