If you want Girardi you're gonna have to fire Theo first. Girardi manages like it's 1956.

I dont put much stock in managers. It's 99.9% the players. I think some times managers run their course in a certain spot and Joe may have at this point. I dont think he's done a bad job at all, but it might be time.

Just remember, with this offense and Darvish, Chatwood, Morrow and Bryant all having terrible years one way or another....they won 95 games.

You sure another manager pulls that off?

We all knew this day was coming for a while. That is the non Cub fans that saw through the clowns and circuses. Cub fans will always turn on what they initially demanded and loved.

I don't want Girardi, Epstein don't want him either.. I want a guy under 45 years old.

Really the only guy in baseball with a great post season track record is Francona.

Didn't they win that series? I'll take either one.

Oh, is that how we judge things? Then I guess I'll point out Maddon won the WS in 2016.

Girardi sucks. That Yankee team should have won 2-3 titles.

Would that be the clowns and circuses that led to their first World Series win in 108 years? Is that what you're talking about?

And do you believe Cub fans are the only fickle fans in sports who turn on guys they once loved? Is that your theory?

That wasn't panicking though. It was a brain fart. Every manager has them. Joe panics and makes awful decisions on a regular basis. We all point them out. He's so fucking stubborn and continues to make the same ones because he has to prove he's smarter than everyone else.

Every fan base will. Hawks fans are turning on Q too for various reasons not completely unlike the criticism Maddon is getting and hes got 3 titles.
Maddon made some extremely questionable calls yesterday... pinch hitting with Heyward, pulling Lester, taking out your number 1 clutch hitter and not having him in half the ballgame (who's to say that pinch running for him is the only conceivable way that game gets tied?)... the list goes on but the story is that in the playoffs some very questionable strategic moves have hurt this team even though once they overcame it to win a title.

Maddon isn't that good. He's won with teams anyone could have won with. The players had to overcome his stupidity in 2016 or we wouldn't have a WS.

Kevin Cash is the modern prototype. Maybe TheoandJed can bring a cheap bottle of Cab to his trailer and poach him from Tampa.

Professor Flakey gets on the score today and, on cue, gives a spirited defense of Maddon. Then without any prompting transitions to a defense of Dusty.

A 3rd place and a 2nd place finish, and four different teams having a champagne celebration in the Wrigley visitor's clubhouse.

You should demand more.

You would absolutely KILL for the Sox to have a run like the Cubs are having.

I don't think people got my post. It is not that Maddon was never good. He was obviously good enough to bring a young team hitting on all cylinders to a WS championship despite some mistakes.

The larger point is many Cub fans tend to over love a manager particularly just before they are hired. Then the turn against seems also over the top. As if to wonder why did you even want him or the circus to begin with? This happened with Dusty and Lou with out the WS of course.

Any manager who coaches himself into a situation where TERRANCE FUCKING GORE has to BAT twice in a winner take all game should be open to speculation about losing his job.

Amen mate. That's just one thing from last night
Someone brought up something Maddon does that should be raising eyebrows too... the whole batting practice doesn't matter mindset hes discussed several times. Dude you cant be saying shit like that when your team scores 0 or 1 runs 40 times.

I bet the joke but if the other side pitches better 40 plus games a tear nearly shutting out the fabled brizzo and babe Schwarber and the unstoppable force of one el mago then yeah theres something rotten in the batting cage denmark.

Christ another great point... why the bloody FUCK was Gore swinging away in his two ABs? That's one of those things I dont gwt about maddon.... and in my humble opinion that is a sign hes not right here anymore. Did he think gore was going to have a Hollywood ending to either of those at bats?
