The post would not be deleted. The thread would not be deleted. It just would not appear without having to click 'view this post' when scrolling through a topic.

It does not seem as if the board has a majority liberal sect anyway, does it?

I don't envision the system being used to simply hide certain opinions. The threshold would be tweaked to prevent that. But it would be used to hide low quality troll posts. And those that like troll posts still have the opportunity to engage.

I don't think we would ever silence conservative views on this board. The board is probably more conservative anyway. While JORR and Crest appear to be aligned with each other politically at times, we all appreciate opposing views.

An upvote/downvote feature would be cool. I don't understand the logic behind hiding downvoted posts though. Anyone can block/ignore/foe list any poster they want to, the board doesn't need to do it for you.

I think his sports thoughts are equally bad but I don't know why people don't just autoscroll past The Hawk or LTG/JLN/Ogie when they get in their groove. It's pretty easy to skip past or ignore posts you don't care to read.

I agree. Disagree without being disagreeable. Gets old after awhile but it seems that some people are incapable of doing that. Same spin and the same personal attacks. Its weak after awhile.


In addition to this is the alliances that some (not all) have formed based upon off site fraternizing. It obviously determines the way in which they post. The "you wouldn't say this to me face to face" "nice guy in person" "next board outing" "last board outing" rule provision applies to this group. There is no way that this doesn't influence the way that some people post. It also leads to dislike of some (not all) that choose not interact outside of this place. In essence its too cliquish on here.
