Stop complaining, LTG. Man up and deal with it, knowing that is just how the board is, or just add a bunch of people to your foe list.

That would be my $0.02

America and Toxic have been fine. America's contributions in sports threads have been 2nd to none.

Agreed. America adds a lot and would be missed if he were permanently banned.

I agree. Disagree without being disagreeable. Gets old after awhile but it seems that some people are incapable of doing that. Same spin and the same personal attacks. Its weak after awhile.

In addition to this is the alliances that some (not all) have formed based upon off site fraternizing. It obviously determines the way in which they post. The "you wouldn't say this to me face to face" "nice guy in person" "next board outing" "last board outing" rule provision applies to this group. There is no way that this doesn't influence the way that some people post. It also leads to dislike of some (not all) that choose not interact outside of this place. In essence its too cliquish on here.

You know if you went to an event or two you would not have this issue.

Even great posters like myself will post a dud.

I mean, if the secret FB cabal wants it, then it's prolly gonna happen.

Mults / low post count accounts / guests would not have voting permissions.

This isn't that hard guys. The Wisemen employ some very smart individuals that understand how to modify board settings to accomplish a superior board experience for all.

Bump order is a vote. The active threads that people are drawn to are at the top and the shitty threads where IMU wants us to kneel before his mostly wrong predictions whither and die. Ultimately it just rewards mediocrity as shitty posts that do not provoke any reaction one way or the other take all the adulation.

Reddit is really gay. And social media is even worse. If people want those things it's not like there's a shortage of social media platforms or subreddits out there.

Anyone who still posts on message boards like these is doing so because they like message boards. What percentage of these types of boards are still around from the pre-Facebook high? The people who are here are here because they want to be, overhauling the entire system because you're still a butthurt little.baby over me making fun of your shark teeth is like burning down the forest just to get one tree

Your posts might be the most highly upvoted posts on the board. Give yourself the chance to shine!

There are also plenty of political forums and websites, but you are here. You don't seem to care about the board's origins or the desires of its community.

But the problem is that the number of posters who "want to be here" is dwindling AND overall engagement among the remaining posting population is plummeting. Darkside, Noisewater, Telegram Sam, Mr. Reason, DannyB and stoneroses86 all rank among the board's all-time greats, but all of these guys have gradually lost interest in the board and no longer post at their peak levels (It should be noted that while stoneroses now suffers from an illness that precludes him from posting, his interest in the board was waning prior to his diagnosis.). Even Bagels appears to have left!

In earlier years, the board could have sustained such losses because it managed to attract new "regulars" who continually revitalized the board. Such is no longer the case. The old guard is dying, CFMB lacks a new generation of emergent posters, and many of the relatively new core posters seem (consciously or unconsciously) committed to eviscerating the board rather than strengthening it.

How many times do you plan on complaining about this? Even if it's true, it's not changing. And, by the way, you call people all sorts of names... perhaps as much as any other board member.

Anyway, McNown said my wife banged my black neighbor this morning. Will you admonish him for it since you are the board police officer?

Traffic and post totals are up since we assumed control of the board. In general people are complaining about where the posts are made and their tone. I would love to see more sports posts but the community prefers political thoughts despite all of the griping.

That's just a reality of message boards. I think the only true message board on the internet, aka not Reddit or 4chan, that is actually growing is incels.me. You want to be like incels.me?

What periods are you comparing to measure the traffic and posting increases? And are you strictly counting post totals or diversity of posters contributing to the board? It seems like posting has consolidated among a relatively small group of individuals over the past year, though this group seems to post at a sometimes astonishing rate.

In any event, the board seems like it's dying to me, but I suppose only time will tell.

We need to have more talk about the central park 5 and how trump should be removed from office due to his actions at that time. Also, anyone who doesn't mention how the central park 5 were wronged in every post should be banned because they're very bad.

I don't think this is true. We had a huge Bears win on Sunday and the Cubs were getting ready to get their asses kicked on Monday and Tuesday but Kavanaugh and Trump threads dominated the discussion on the board. There was only a couple of people trying to contribute to the sports discussions.

Truthfully there are MANY who complain about the political threads but they don't try to add anything to other sections. They just complain for the sake of complaining.

Now you can't see the political threads unless you sign in and visit the politics section. We'll see if that makes the discussions in other threads more popular.

(it should be noted that while stoneroses now suffers from an illness that precludes him from posting, his interest in the board was waning prior to his diagnosis.)

Yeah, but you post less than you used to, so overall probably a net positive.

It's just about lunchtime. Take some time off and feed your persecution complex.

I took a stroll through Denis' neighborhood to remind me of what I haven't yet achieved.

But the problem is that the number of posters who "want to be here" is dwindling AND overall engagement among the remaining posting population is plummeting. Darkside, Noisewater, Telegram Sam, Mr. Reason, DannyB and stoneroses86 all rank among the board's all-time greats, but all of these guys have gradually lost interest in the board and no longer post at their peak levels.
