So magically I guess we are just supposed to find all of these new board changes? This morning I noticed all of the politics threads that are in that category no longer show up in the view active topics area. I don't get the reasoning behind that. Last evening the apparent change was that you can now embed tweets. In the last one it seemed IMU took the credit for the change.

Neither of the changes are a big deal but it would be nice to have the change announced rather than having to stumble across whatever stuff IMU did while he was remaking the board.

That thread showed IMU could make changes and many ideas were discussed. I don't see your point. I did not see the mentioning of the change until much later where KDiddit got the request granted. That was not an announcement at any rate.

You read all those things including Kirkwood losing his password but you missed all the posts about political posts.

Nope I saw that. Even saw about rating etc. Just never saw that they were moved. Want to fight about this we can I guess? I just asked if there were changes the masses could be told. Sorry to be so out of line.

You created a thread asking about changes but had already read the thread about the changes and why they were made. This is odd.

Send the Wisemen your mailing address and I'm sure they'll send a refund to assuage your personal dissatisfaction with them and this board because of your lack of basic reading comprehension.

I am firmly against any manipulation of the view active topics button.

I know the political stuff can get annoying, but if thems the active topics, then thems the active topics.

A lot of software has Easter Eggs. Think of these changed as Easter Eggs and have fun discovering them all.

Something had to be done though. This seems to be a good step. Those who want to post for hours a day about politics can but we can get back to laughing at the Cubs choke job and calling women fat like this board was intended to do.

Agreed. I think this is a very happy medium. Those who want to talk politics (and only politics) can go the correct section, meanwhile the rest of the active topics does not get affected.

good idea to quarantine the political crap, but agree with drunkmike expecting everyone to find these changes buried in threads is probably asking too much... would it be difficult to post a sticky thread?

Yeah, I can see where it was hard to avoid clicking on a political discussion if it comes up among the active topics. It’s like a magic spell that forces you to read topics you wish to a avoid.

What I've gathered from years of complaints is that weeding through the active topics for a thread that wasn't political became too much of a hassle. In addition to that the tone of the political threads were nasty and divisive. We'll see if this minor tweak makes the board more enjoyable for most people. So far it appears that most are in favor of this tweak and the politics section is still active.

I used to do that. Once you click it a few times it becomes an addiction you can't shake.

We should just include Politics in the Active Topics for a day, maybe tomorrow, when Kavanaugh gets voted down. It's going to be pegged, alot.
